Player History
Hi all. I've got a question I'm hoping folks can help me with. Actually, I'm not even really sure it's a question so much as a request. I don't know.
Every year I buy OOTP and every year, because I am anal as all get out, I find myself scouring the player histories, making sure that every player who ever won a championship or a major award has that listed in their history in the proper (i.e. the game's natural) format. This usually ends up taking me quite some time, as I have over a hundred years of baseball to go through and also a life outside of the game.
What I'm wondering is, is there any way that the player ID numbers could remain consistent from one version of the game to the next, such that I might be able to just copy my player history .txt files from one version to the next, thus saving myself countless hours of redundant work?
Does anyone else do this? Have you found a way around it? I realize that the game comes with a lot of this information pre-packaged, but it isn't always formatted correctly and, hello, OCD over here.
