Counter Punching and strategies

Is there any way of determining which punch is a counter in the play-by-play?

Is there anywhere that lists the ratings change in actual numbers?

I remember playing the hell out of this game as a kid. The bios on the back of the cards was worth the price alone for all the info. I think I wore out two sets of action cards and made many trips to a local printer to print up more score sheets.

When I see a Butt in the log, I can't help but remember "International Butt".

Regarding the bios, years ago I think I read some of the fighters or relatives of the fighters didn't always agree or care for some of the info on those bios.

Yeah, I can guess the comments were unappreciated in certain places. But it was a wealth of information for a 14 yr old kid whose knowledge of Boxing was limited to the Wild World of Sports.

I've tried to follow the log like they are action cards but I can't. Not sure it is even the same anymore.

When I was 14 I thought James J Corbett was the greatest HW ever and that he was managed by Fred Mertz.

...and Corbett looked a lot like Robin Hood and Captain Blood.

I agree, it was great reading about fighters you never actually saw.

Yep, and it is still one of my favorite boxing films. My favorite is The Harder They Fall. My dad took me to see it when I was 7 and spent the rest of the day telling me stories about old time fighters and mobsters.
