Three Starters, Loaded Pen
Hey,
If you haven't tried starting only three pitchers - often on a 50 PC - and a loaded pen, well, you just aren't much with the trends are you? Though this once seemed to be a side-gimmick, I noticed that winner of the (Silver?) Daily yesterday was a 3-starter team. I'm starting to encounter them with greater frequency. It's cheesy and lame, imo, but if it works it seems the best option (barring the devs weighing in) is to encourage everyone to do it and reduce the advantage of the ploy. Feels like I'm already making great progress! [/screed] |

Not lame if it works. Sounds similar to opener/follower but the first guy goes another inning or two. I'm not running a Silver team currently. Are people doing this for best of 7 series tourney or only the shorter lengths? Thanks

If they want to use openers, there is an option to respond. They use this SPECIFICALLY because it doesn't allow the opponent to respond (unless they're watching). There are options on responses to openers.
Of course, this "strategy" is probably hash now that the Devs (Thanks Guys!!) have addressed it by reducing pitchers' effectiveness when exhausted. Hope you guys had fun, not going to miss seeing your EXPLOIT-driven teams in 7-game early bronze & silver |
