Oh, come on!
I know injuries are part of the game, but having Syndergaard, Matz, AND De Groom all go down with Tommy John surgery in the first 50 games? Crap.

nearly 1/4th of pitchers get injured each year... if they are injury prone that elevates teh chances, of course. a stiff breeze comes at the wrong time and a SP injures himself... lol baseball.. a whole lot of standing around and people get hurt constantly. they should stretch more.. but nothign a pitcher can do.. it's an unnatural thing to throw a ball 100's of times at max effort. |

Wow, this game really IS realistic! |

I hear next year they are installing special tools near the entrance to the clubhouse at Citi Field that pitchers can poke into their elbows to tear their UCLs. Might as well just get it over with, saves time that way.
Seriously though, sorry about the rough luck. Out of curiosity, how does the game handle people having TJ? Is it "just another injury" or does it have a major impact on their abilities (as is often the case IRL)? |

Sandy wants to trade Matz to me.
I told him to write me back in a week if Matz still isn't on the DL. |

I lost Sale, Price, and Pomeranz for the entire season in the first two weeks of games. It's July and I'm somehow in first place regardless!

A message popped in my inbox an hour ago saying Syndergaard was out for the season. I thought of this thread and chuckled a bit.

In a crazy twist Thor just won the pitching triple crown in my game. The Mets still finished 4th in their division, so at least something was right with the sim.

Lolz
So somehow I ended up winning the world series. This is after I lost Sean Manaea (who I fleeced from the A's) for the last 2 months/playoffs (so to recap, my DL pitching staff was Noah, Matz, De Groom, Harvey, and Manaea). Zack F'ing Wheeler was the star. Struck out 11 in 7 innings in game 7 vs. the Yankees. Love this game!

I have found one pattern and that is current season the game will pick on two and sometimes 3 players for injuries during the game but will be allowed to stay in game then the following season they get hurt for 6 weeks then injuried again and again. Usually they are injuried 3 or 4 times in one season then they be back to normal again with diminished ratings. Have yet to solve this issue to prevent that. No I do not desire to go to Comissioner mode

Sorry, letting my OCD get the better of me here, but it's deGrom. Jacob deGrom. De Groom is absolutely hilarious though. Please don't change it.

Yep, if its still Ray Ramirez in the game, emulate real life and see if that helps. At least the game doesn't simulate Jeff Wilpon telling people to play injured!

considering that in spring training of season 2 he went down again for 500 (slight exaggeration) months with "stretched ligaments" I think De DL is more appropriate.

4 straight WS wins with me managing. The team had been mostly flipped though. |
