Player Rating
I have players with their potential rating lower then current rating, Why?

What it means, I think, is that the scout believes that the player is on a downhill slide. He may be great today, but Father Time has him in a rundown.
Interestingly, players who have declined sometimes regain high potential ratings, which I interpret as a hope of a late life revival, à al Sabathia this season. Almost always, it doesn't pan out. |

Did you turn on Scouting based on AI evaluation instead of pure ratings because that can cause potential to be lower than current

There is a specific check mark that allows this. It can be turned off.

it's not unusual for fully developed players in their prime years to have ratings slightly above potential.
