Game Flow Mode

So excited for this game! Looks awesome.

The new “Game Flow” option sounds really interesting but I don’t quite understand what it is/what it does. Can you give us some examples how this feature would work?

Essentially, Game Flow is just a fancy name for the new "Continue" button we have added to the top right area of the game. This button is context-dependent, meaning that it will guide you through the game flow and from one task to the next. Let's say you got a PM, then the button will display that and take you to the PM. Then, if you have a game that day, it will take you to the game. If nothing important is left to do, it will finish the day. This is very useful for beginners, but I personally like it a lot as well. Plus, it is customizable, here are the options available:

Does this replace the old continue button?

If so, can this be configured to work exactly the same, just sim a full day?

Sorry, hard to tell by looking at the configuration page.

The old continue button is still there in the sidebar.

I would like to see some custom options here like checking the waiver wire and trade block, so you can get there with one click.

So a lot like Football Manager. I really, really like this.

IMO, OOTP should just keep taking pages from FM. A baseball version of FM would literally be my perfect game and while OOTP is pretty much that, it's still not nearly as in-depth (which is not a knock on OOTP at all given how crazy in-depth FM actually is, but im just being honest with my opinion).

Completely agree. And we will get there. Remember, FM sells 20 times as many copies as we do and have like 100+ people working on the game. Tough to be compared to that

Exactly my point, Markus You guys always do a fantastic job, not only with producing a game every year thats always better than the prior version(s), but always with interacting with the community, with customer service, and especially with listening to your core consumers here and listening to our suggestions on how to make the game better.

Even though I never really get invested into any saves and find myself creating MLB uniforms more than actually playing the game itself (that changes this year!!!!), I'll always pre-order every year to support y'all.

Congrats on 21 editions of OOTP Baseball, and here's to 21 more (at least)!

Just assign/save a function key for these purposes, works great.

This thread, in particular that screenshot (thanks for that) convinces me that Game Flow is not just for noobs and is something that I would be interested in.

Can the Game Flow options you have set-up be different for each world you have. So if I have a current season league that I play out game by game can that be set up differently than my historical sim that I sim out a week at a time?

I know you can use bookmarks, but bookmarks are out of sight and a new player might forget to check some routine things. Maybe just one choice, go to transactions page, just as a reminder.

may be an odd request but similar to football manager can we use spacebar to operate the continue button?

For Challenge Mode, will game flow allow us to sim more than a week at a time during season play?

Also, will our "assistant GM" play a bigger role in this game? I mean, if I am auto playing for a week and I get an injury...I know the AI will handle it, but will the "assistant GM" do that work?

I know in previous versions of OOTP, some assistant GMs favor more veterans over young players and vise visa. I think it would be a cool that if your assistant GM who favors vets...calls up a vet from AAA to replace them instead of a younger player. It would add more value to the assistant GM IMO.

It doesn't let you sim any more than you normally would in challenge mode. If you set it to sim for a week, it will essentially be the equivalent of going to play -> sim next week, so if you get an injury or something in the meantime, it will still pop out and let you handle that.

With this in mind I couldn't help but remember when 6.5 came out and I thought it was an incredible step.

Think about how far it's come since.

An amazing feat to be sure.
