AI Player Evaluation settings

We seem to discuss this with every release, I've had mine set to 40/40/15/5 for quite some time now as they are what the MLB fictional setup have always been set to. (even for ratings/current stats)

I do know the MLB quickstart is always set to 65/20/10/5 - I think? So why the big difference? (favor ratings)

I'm thinking about changing to: 50/30/15/5 (more for ratings from what I've been using)

The manual shows: 35/45/15/5 (favored towards current years stats)

I think I'll try those this season.. I think the trade AI is better, so I'm going to use avg/neutral for now, but there are too many trades, so I'm going back to low.

glad you said that about the trade frequency I usually play low and have toyed with the idea of Very Low.

I am convinced the beta teams have tested thing upside down and sideways...therfore, I am going to take their recommendations in every category (with the exception of trade difficulty) and see how things progress. These settings are at least 3 to 4 versions old now...perhaps for a reason?

Well, I am too for now with everything EXCEPT for AI Player Evaluations, I have mine set at 50/30/15/5 this season.

How many trades are you seeing between opening day and the deadline?

I used that last season, I wanted to bump up ratings a bit for evaluations.

Where can you find their recommendations?

Ive tried very low before any other setting because of word of mouth, however there were only 28 trades. Based on the last 3 year, there have been a rough average of nearly 50 trades from opening day to July 31st. I plan on having a modern day Major league so I may see how that average setting is for myself.

As for AI evaluation.

From the small sample size test I ran, 25% across the board seem like the most balance (obviously)

When I turned scouting off and toggled between pure ratings and AI-E, established players didn't see and significant change in the OVR while guys who would rank with a high OVR with pure ratings but had little to no MLB experience or had a few bad years had their ratings down in the 20's (20-80 scale) e.g.. prospect/underachiever = 56 with pure and 24 with AI-E vs prime = 62 pure and 64 AI-E.

But I like all stats so I am going with ratings at 0%.

Edit

This 35 year old DH thats is over preforming is hitting .262 and is on pace to hit 38 HR with 119 RBI's. Pure ratings has him at a 28 (would likely get waived) but with AI-E at 25% even he shoots to at 54. he's a 44 with the 40% 30% 20% 10% setup.

I like to use everything based on stats so I have AI evaluation at 0/52/30/18. I had seen this on here last launch and tried it.

It has seemed to work pretty well for me as I don't have 4 star players that haven't proven themselves.

Very interesting using 0% for ratings craftdr.

SirMichaelJordan, what settings do you use for AI-E then, 25/25/25/25?

I think someone said last year that even with it at 0% for ratings, that it still factors ratings in to some degree. Love to hear from someone on the team so I know I'm giving out correct info.

I want a nice balance between 3 year splits.

I read that also ( I think from Marcus)

Something about if there isn't enough stats to go off on it, the ratings will then come into play.

I have a couple of rating questions:

1. If you turn scouting off does the AI see the same ratings that you do?
2. If you use a ratings scale like 2-8 does the AI see those ratings or more granular ones?

Correct, I did some research on the forums and actually the AI uses stats unless there isn't enough information, then it looks ratings.

Basically, after all the reading.. I'm going back to defaults of 65/20/10/5.

1. I think so.
2. I'm pretty sure it sees more granular ones.
