Ron Solomini

Ron Solomini was an outfielder on the New York Yankees' spring roster in 1962 and 1963. He died on Dec. 28, 2017. Though every indication is that his name was spelled Solomini throughout his baseball career, his obituary indicates that his real name was Ronald Russell Solomine.

The photo appeared on eBay in 2011.

Fred Bradley

Fred Bradley had a brief major league career with the Chicago White Sox. In 1948, he spent the entire season with the club but appeared in just 8 games, pitching just over 15 innings. The following year, he got just one major league appearance of 2 innings. You'll find an image of Fred with the Chi Sox here.

But, before Chicago, Fred was a Yankee farmhand. The Kansas native pitched for the Kansas City Blues in 1946 and 1947, after returning from military service. In the latter year, Fred went 13-4 with a 2.98 ERA, prompting Chicago to send Eddie Lopat to the Yanks for the hurler. This image dates to the former year, when Fred was 7-9 with a 3.59 ERA, and is from a current eBay auction.

Gary Pickert

The attached photo shows pitcher Gary Pickert with the Hawaii Islanders. It is from the Honolulu Star-Bulletin of April 19, 1981.

Gary was a non-roster invitee to the San Diego Padres' spring camp in 1981 after he went 8-1 for Amarillo of the Texas League in 1980.

He is still involved in the game of baseball
interesting though that this website mentions he was on the Twins major league roster in 1970 and 1972...not sure how that worked for those years
Possible call up in September and did not get in any game's.

C'mon, Lumpkin, please don't speculate about Michael Brooks being a Sharman Society guy, because he wasn't. I had previously responded (on 1/9/2018) that his connection with the Twins' roster in 1970 and 1972 was that he was on their spring rosters those two years.

The first photo shows a head shot of Krenchicki in a University of Miami uniform. It's from the Miami News of January 8, 1976 and accompanies an article discussing his signing with the Orioles. The second photo shows him getting back to first base on a pickoff attempt. He is wearing a Miami Orioles uniform in the second photo. It's from the Palm Beach Post of May 21, 1976.

Earl Bass

University of South Carolina baseball tweeted this morning:

"Our thoughts are with the Bass family after the passing of Earl Bass. Bass was a two-time All-American, helped the Gamecocks to the CWS in 1975, won 23 consecutive games on the mound and was named an SEC Baseball Legend this past May."

Bass was the second overall selection by the Cardinals in the 1975 (June) MLB draft by the Cardinals...He was immediately placed on their AAA roster going 2-4 with a 5.73 E.R.A in 12 G (10 GS). He spent all but 12 games of his 74 games at the AAA level and was out of the game after just 4 seasons finishing with a 32-27 record and a 4.08 E.R.A
