(not) New York Times says Hello OOTP

A hundred thousand ghosts from baseball's golden age come to video games

Wow great read, nice to know OOTP is getting some recognition from places other than baseball blogs and a highly respected newspaper at that! Still cant wait for OOTP 17 and now that there are full historical minor leagues I might finally give historical a try since in the past the lack of full minor leagues was a turn off for me.

"highly respected newspaper "

I would not call the NY times a highly respected newspaper. Used to be, not for some time now. But, it's great to see some ootp exposure all the same.

They're not historical minor lgs per say....They're the historically affiliated minor lg teams starting in 1919. with some non-affiliated teams included where technically needed.

Wait, this article isn't from the New York Times... it's from some blog on MSN.com.

Cool, nonetheless, but why the need to lie about the source?

EDIT - Sorry for being kind of a jerk.

"Lie" is a pretty strong word and I would be hesitant to throw it around without being sure that it applies to the situation.

It's actually directly from Polygon. That's who we did the Interview with and it's linked to other sites..
Help OOTP and leave a comment at Polygon.

Fair. I just don't understand the confusion regarding the source. Nothing suggests that it was from the New York Times.

There are a number of websites that link to this article, so my guess is that the OP got to it by passing through the NYT site at some point... Somethin' like that...

Really doesn't matter where the story came from.
OOTP just got some exposure.
There are some baseball management enthusiasts who didnt even know that OOTP exists.
Now they know, and now they are going to buy.

It used to be a great newspaper. Now it's just another propaganda arm of the Democratic Party.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.

And it's from MSN, not the New York Times. Different fish.

If it was the Times he'd have been referred to as Mr. Heinsohn over and over.

Meh, The Times is just another arm of Der Korporate Masters. Just made to look left-leaning. As I like to say, there is no liberal media, no conservative media, only corporate media.
