How many levels of minors do you use?
I started this thread in 12 and was wondering what people are using for 13.
Since my laptop is old I want to keep file sizes down. However, I do want college and high school feeders for stats and immersion purposes. I've been kicking around the idea of 1 level of minors or just a reserve roster. BTW I haven't purchased 13 yet. http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...o-you-use.html |

I've always used 3. Anymore than that it's to much to manage for me.

So you guys don't have issues with sim/load times. That's the main reason I want to keep the league's minors small or non-existent.

Three. More than that is more spaghetti than I can keep on my fork.

I like to use AAA, AA, A, and Rookie. When I'm feeling very ambitious sometimes I go through my MLB universes and eliminate Lo-A and the AZL/GCL so that all the teams have the same number of affiliates, and less of those perpetual rookie ball guys the AI loves. |

Usually 4, because having a Short season A roster in the first half of the season is useful for minor league injury replacements lol.

I have yet to play any OOTP besides OOTP 12 on my iPhone but I plan on using 3 levels of minors. I have heard that it can get a little much. I was thinking about increasing the number of rounds in the draft in order to emulate a traditional minor league roster.

I use as many as I can. Playing around with the minor leagues of my organization is the most fun part of this game for me.
Starting up a 1973 league using the Spritze HS DB. This gives me 2,600+ players. I was only going to use 3 levels of minors, but now I'm adding a rookie league and may even add a 5th level down the road because I'm probably not going to expand my league, till I can add four total teams and I still many not expand. |

None. I use reserve roster. I hate babysitting the minor leagues making sure everyone is at the right level. The reserve roster does this for me and I have it set to 30 players so it is easy to manage. The players progress the same as if they were getting minor league experience, the only downside is you have no stats to look at to determine if they are ready.

I use them all. I start a new game, then add the minors. The appropriate players are all there. I also turn off hidden players and load ALL the available leagues but set them so they can't trade with other major leagues. I found the game more challenging because it takes it toll on available free agents. When players from other leagues show up as a free agent, you have a history. Load times are slower, but not horrible.

I believe jb is suggesting that SandMan have the AI take care of his minors instead of using the reserve roster.

Can somewone please explian, what the hidden players are used for and what are the positive and negitives. Also what about the ghost players. I've been playing for years, but never quite undestood this. I think I remember an issue where one day a few of my minor league teams were short a bunch of players and it might have had something to do with hidden or ghost players.
