Interesting news---as most know the FOF interface is God awful and I am sure OOTP will fix that ,but my real concern is Jim Gindin has adamantly fought against customization in FOF. Editing players, teams, etc was totally impossible for years and today is still a real chore to accomplish---will this game be totally customizable as OOTP is ???

And as I stated before, I hope the OOTP team will make this Mac compatible as well. |

Wow
I saw this and my jaw dropped. I read all the posts and one thing I thought of right away.
If you took what Jim has done, great engine, deep stats and love of the game by one person. Add in the 20+ years he has worked on this with the 20+ years Markus has put into making OOTP and all the baseball stats its going to be incredible. If FOF was just to add a skin, with easily to find menus and updated GUI it would be a home run. I am not even thinking of the time when we have a 3D engine like baseball, that is for sure down the road about 3-5 years as OOTP just got it last year. Then I think of the modding capabilities which both Jim and Markus left open to be done. If he has been coding on this since last summer, this fall will be even better. i would predict an in game editor to change attributes for sure. Perhaps some very minor selection choices in league size and schedule. And hopefully the addition of other nations besides USA cough cough canada but that would be a bonus.

Yes, I'm really hoping the CFL is an option as a playable league, or at least, customization to the point where I could create the CFL. Heck, just league alignment with Canadian cities and using NFL rules would be acceptable.

FOF is a good game but i can't get past the random ratings when starting a game.
If they ever offer a version without that randomness to ratings I'd be all over the game |

I want an OOTP baseball game, except football. Plain and simple, haha. I hope OOTP doesnt compromise too many of the things that have made OOTP Baseball such a success.

Customization can come at a price....and I’m hoping for something very solid game engine and AI wise, while still allowing for SOME customization (NCAA, cfl etc) while not on the same level as OOTP. I don’t need to be fiddling with the economic system, the scouting system or the engine. That stuff should be good to go out of the gate.

Online h2h multiplayer career league
Lets hope you will offer Online h2h multiplayer career league
where you have: -the ability to play the game h2h -free agents -drafts -aging year to year -ect I mean Front Page Sports Football 98 did it with no problem... I am clueless why no one seems to be able to recreate that! |

So, all the other OOTP games include other leagues in the same sport. Will The College Years be part of FOF now?

Jim expressed interest in doing the College Years again after FOF8 was out, so I'm hoping it'll become a thing again and feed into FOF.
That said, if he wants to focus on FOF for a few releases I wouldn't begrudge him that. |

The dream would be if they both are wrapped up in one beautiful package where we can actually watch the games and... I'm gonna stop there because that's good enough & I doubt that will be a reality.

Markus (and the entire OOTP team), this is one of the best business decisions I've seen a company make in a long time. Congrats and keep up the great work!
