I am working on a banner and would like to incorporate the championship logo but when it get reduced it loses detail.

I love the Heartland Series logo...not sure if we need a banner, I'll just put that logo at the top of the page.

I like the buttons but the league site is a template from simnation and I'm not sure how to incorporate them in place of what is there now.

I have already started using the backgrounds from your backgrounds thread and these city specific backgrounds are great.

If you ever want championship banners for the owner who wins the Heartland Series for their signature line let me know. You could just put the owners name on the championship logo and they could sport that in the sig line, I guess. Anyhow...I'm rambling.

No problem. Do you happen to have your team logo before it became a glossy button? They are very hard to work with once they have all of those shading layers over the top of them. If not, I'll see if I can track it down somwhere. Hopefully it's in my generic folder. Also, if you happen to know your team font that would be helpful but not necessary.

On an aside...I was just reading your thread about stats-only on the HBL boards in regards to how scouting reports are 100% accurate. I must say that I agree with you completely. The best way to get stats-only would be to set the scouting report accuracy to very low thereby rendering them useless. In any event, it's a tough situation because the league has been running for a bit. Keep in mind the scouting report has what 8 variations? Essentially you guys are playing 2-8 because each scout report can be directly converted to a numerical value of the 2-8 scale. 2-8 does create a fairly sizeable fog of war but, ultimately, those are, indeed, ratings.

Anyhow..rambling again..

I've had a change of heart on that issue. The reports don't take into account other factors such as splits against lefties and righties (players have different ratings for each), individual pitch ratings, or even gap abilities. Like you said, there are only about 8 variations of text reports. First, you'd need to translate that report in to the correct rating, which isn't easy to do. Even still, players are rated on a 1-250 scale and that's just overall. The 1-250 scale changes, like I said, based on if you're facing lefties or righties. Also, personality and player morale affects these numbers too.

So if you divide 250/8 you come up with 31. So a player who's rating, say, with contact ability that is 219 is scouted the same as a player who is 250. Now let's assume that you mistranslate the text by one point, then you might think a player that is 189 is a 250.

Yes, I wish we'd have scouts. Really, most people in the league don't oppose turning them on except for the Jackalopes general manager. I'm not sure why he's so adamantly against it, but I gave up trying.

Point being, yes they're accurate, but not 100% accurate as I once thought.

That logo has some major flaws in it but nothing that I can't work with. I'd be more than happy to work with it for your banner. The reason I bring this up is that I can spice up that logo with new artwork that will give it almost the same look so that the idea is the same. Call it modernizing.


My guess is that logo started out as jpeg many years ago and was lifted a few times through various programs and altered. The image is blurry indicating that it was resized at least one or more times. Why do I bring this up?

Well, because you may like this better. I also fixed the color codes in the name of file so that they would be 100% correct. Meaning the team colors would match the logo colors exactly. All you would need to do is have justafan put a glossy button around it. As per usual, please don't feel obliged to use it.
