I'd have thought the AL wildcard loser meeting the NL wildcard loser for the World Series would have been a worse scenario - would defeat the purpose of it

No offense to my Tigers, but of all the teams in the post season, it seems like the Cards and the Beard Sox should have the biggest draw.

Not a big Red Sox fan, but I can think of worse.

Any matchup involving the Marlins f.e.

EDIT: Forgot the Phillies. I think I'd managed to successfully block the fact of their existence from my mind. So my worst possible scenario would probably be Phillies-Red Sox or Phillies-White Sox
