Season 1 (2020) - Now It Counts...
Now that abbreviated entry pool play is out of the way, the first proper season of PT 3.0 can get underway. As always, this is the place where you can discuss your league placement, the teams around you, and your hopes and dreams for the week ahead.
The Steelport Saints have been placed in Iron .178. With the other four teams in their AC West division still looking like starter teams, the Saints are heavy favorites to take a division title. However, they are not the favorites to win it all. That title goes to either the Singapore Sluggers or the Saginaw Stripers, both in the AC Central. As those two will be beating each other up all season, the road to the #1 seed in the conference is wide open for the Saints to run down. Over in the other conference, the clear favorite are the H-Town Herd...but this is baseball we're talking about, so all things are possible. For the first time this cycle...good luck, have fun, and don't die! |

no idea how to change/remove sigs so just going with it
Team 1 - Paragon City Heroes Iron League 164, mostly consists of collection players, expecting decent power numbers, not much D outside of Tulo Team 2 - Pachuca Pack Rats Rookie League 99, pack only team F2P team, and as such the quality of players varies massively, 88 Rocky Colavito should blast a few though Team 3 - Lowdown Lugnuts Stone League 147 no real theme other than all historical. 92 Frank Robinson was packed so we are building around him, but we have zero pitching a lot of D in Alley/Sabo/Oester, some speed. Not expecting big things from this one though

Saginaw was in my entry pool, absolute beast of a whale. Good luck with them!
My pro team is in Iron, favorites to win their division, FTP team in Stone. Excited to see how the more dynamic promotion/relegation system works in action! Already spotted a theme team in my iron league, the Jimmy Jams. Seems to be a collection of people named Jim, or variations of. Love it! Last edited by Justinw303; 03-23-2020 at 08:18 AM. |

White Tigers are in the NC Central in Iron .175, looks like our stiffest competition will be from Miami in the NC West. Florida in the NC west looks solid too, and there are about 3 teams in the AC similar to them as well.
Sun Kings are in Stone .153. Black Knights are in Rookie .67 and still don't have a starting pitcher better than 68 OVR. |

Last year I didn't care about my teams that much, I was mostly interested in tournaments. I wanted to change that this year, so I made the FTP challenge which incorporates tournaments, collections and base PT. Now I care! My strategy was to shoot for Rookie League by selling off the cream to pay for Iron, Bronze and Silver tournament teams. I figured that more leagues to get through means more play against weaker competition and more PP! I ended up with...
Red Bandits - Rookie .90 Watermelon Bandits - Stone .151 Pink Bandits - Rookie .112

Belfast here.
The Belfast Dodgers are in iron 160; and my FTP teams Miamisburg Vikings are in iron 154 and The Moo are in iron 161. Time to sit back and enjoy for a while. Belfast started off with an extra inning win.

Well, 3 wins so far, White Tigers won in 10 innings in their opener, 2-0. Maddux threw 8 scoreless innings on 7 hits and 0 walks with 11 Ks, then Nathan got 3 outs on 3 pitches in the 9th, and Gordon got 3 on 9 pitches in the 10th. We got the winning run in the top of the 10th on a sac fly by Cano, and Berra drew a walk to drive in the second run.

My new staff will hopefully make a big difference this season. It was one of my weak points on my team. Maddux, Big Unit, Carlton, Wainwright, and Plank will be fun to watch for sure

I just want this to go better than last year when I made the playoffs 64 times among my teams, including 22 times by my main team in the perfect leagues, and only had 2 gold-level titles by one of my F2P teams to show for it. Just this past week I had the best record in my PL and got beat by the second wild card.

Well the Arequipa Alpacas got off to a strong start, pulling two Gold and two Silver from the seven packs it earned with entry pool points. However, due to a glitch in the system (aka me being stupid) none of the new acquisitions were on the roster for the first two games of the season, which the Alpacas lost. Oh well - at least you can't get relegated from Rookie.
This has been fixed and now 84 OVR Sam Gray (1928 St. Louis Browns) will start the THIRD game of the season. 80 OVR Rhys Hoskins is now our starting 1B, replacing some Iron card bum whose name I don't care to remember. You can follow the exploits of the Lynn Live Oaks in their own thread.

I'm 3-0 so far in Iron (this won't last). Anyone else have a team setup for tonight's Twitch tournament thing?

Erie (live team) makes 1001PP and I grab a pack...and I get a Perfect Eckersly. Oh well I guess he will help fund a kick ass live team.

Building the Mets a bit. The goal is to have at least 21 Metsies or honorary Mets (pre-1958 Dodgers and Giants) on the roster, and at most five others.
Well, given that I started out with zero cards fitting the description and I wasn't keen on picking up every old iron card out there, things have gone rather slowly, but I am adding a new card here and there. Just now picked up an (88) 1978 Snapshot John Stearns! This is all I got as far as Mets and honorary Mets are concerned: SP (84) 1920 Leon Cadore (Robins) MR (62) 1947 Harry Taylor (Dodgers) C (61) Live Tomas Nido C (88) 1978 John Stearns 3B(DH) (71) 1986 Ray Knight SS (67) 1989 Kevin Elster SS (60) 1956 Pee Wee Reese (Dodgers) RF(3B) (83) Live Jeff McNeil
