keyboard commands

Will there be more keyboard commands while playing the game out instead of using the mouse. Like when the pop up box comes on and asks you to send the runner or not. Will I be able to just hit the Y or N button for yes or no? A key to go to the bullpen instead of the mouse. Lineup moves? Thanks.

Not necessarily. Do you, for example, always use the mouse or do you hit "1" for next play/pitch? Sometimes the keyboard is more comfortable.

Yes, I agree. I suggested this in the past. I'm sure laptop users would like this too. I hate that little nub that some laptops have. Many other actions have keyboard and mouse support.

Let me give you a visual example. Usually, I'm in an armchair with the laptop on my, uh, lap.

The mouse is on the arm of the armchair, with a mousepad under it and a small towel under that! Wife's orders. Swears that the constant mouse motion was causing a buildup of dirt and grime, and she doesn't trust the mousepad not to leak chemicals or rub off, either. (Don't get me wrong; she's not a neat freak and she's probably right.)

So, I'm playing OOTPB for hours. Hours! And, after a while, one of two things gets a bit tiresome:

1) Arm constantly extended to my right, clicking on the mouse over and over again.

2) Seeking to use the keyboard more, with both arms in a more natural position, but needing to flip over to the mouse constantly because some commands do not have a keyboard equivalent.

THIS IS NOT A MAJOR COMPLAINT! It is, however, just significant enough for me to respond favorably to what OP and you have said. The more time spent on the keyboard doing repetitive tasks, the more comfortable I would be.

Which would lead to even more time playing OOTPB. Which in turn rates one of each of these:

That wasn't criticism. I started with DOS even though Win 95 was out because I had a business program that required DOS. I am very accustomed to keyboard inputs and like them.

Yes more keyboard shortcuts of course it would need to be fully customized. Left handed!

Typically have to remap all my key bindings for every game

There’s great potential to have shortcuts for defensive positioning, too.

Both of these work better with Enter.

"Esc" is for not sending the runner.

The only times I use the mouse during the game is for doing substitutions. Maybe I'm getting old (just as old as the Mets' most recent title), but touchpads used to be better and the new ones are all terrible. So I drag and drop with the mouse.

Hitting Enter also frees up the left hand for more important tasks, f.e. handling snacks.

Spacebar also works for 1.

Some of us have graduated. I started on a PC with DOS, but I prefer to use the mouse for most commands.

What about the beer? If anything calls for an evolutionary innovation in our species for a third hand, it's this situation.

I would also like to throw my two cents in for making the general game menus more keyboard friendly

My drinking stuff falls under "snacks", but I can't tell you for sure whether it also works with *beer*, since I'm a teetotaler.

...which might come as a bit of a surprise to the three and a half people following the Raccoons
