Won't start on Server 2003
I've tried to search the forums and don't see anyone else having this problem. I installed OOTP 9, but when I try to run it I get this message. "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click OK to terminate the application." This is running on a Windows Server 2003 R2 x64 machine with 4 Gb of RAM.

I'm not sure that I've ever heard of anyone trying to run OOTP on Windows Server 2003 R2. It may not be compatible.

probably not. I see some people who have ran it on Server 03 but not sure about R2 x64 version. It doesn't look like the installer is installing all of the necessary files. I wanted to demo it before buying it just to see if it ran on my machine. I'd definitely buy it if someone can help me get it working. I love OOTP.

Ok, sticky this somewhere. Here's how I solved it. You have to turn Data Execution Prevention off prior to installing the software. Right-click on My Computer and choose Properties. Or, simply open up System properties from inside the Control Panel. Choose the Advanced tab and under "Performance" choose Settings. Now choose the Data Execution Prevention tab and select the option for "Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only." Reboot the machine, install OOTP 9, and it should be good to go. I believe that following the installation you can actually restore the original DEP option and the program will continue to work fine. But, I'm not going to try this right now.

It's been running fine so I decided to try to re-enable DEP for all programs. And, I've found that OOTP will work fine if you add two exceptions. "runservice.exe" in the windows root directory and "ootp9.exe" in the OOTP install directory.
