Unusual league suggestion

I'm kind of throwing this out there as an idea; I don't really know whether I would want to run this, and I've never run an OOTP league before, but it seems off-beat enough that it could be a good kick-around, beer-and-pretzels, have-some-fun type of league...

The idea is to create an independent league, separate from MLB, but with a considerable cash outlay to start - maybe between $75-$125 million - such that it's a second major league rather than another independent minor league.

So basically, you pick a location, team name and colors; you design a major-league style stadium; and you place some kind of minor league team or taxi squad -- and that's it. You have to assemble your team from scratch. Obviously, you'll start by fighting for the dregs and the whole league will be pretty bad, but you'll have some money in the bank to compete for free agents right from the start, and within a few seasons, the talent level between MLB and the new league will be much more even.

What do you think?

Have you run a test of the concept, yet?

I'd recommend that you play around with it for a few seasons and work out the rough patches. Then, when it's beyond the conceptual point, put it out here with more detail. good luck!

I set it up in OOTP 18 at one point, but got distracted and didn't play it out very far. I suppose I would need someone with another copy of the game to play it out fully - correct me if I'm wrong, but the license allows you to install one other copy? I could put it on a different system.
