Historical season question

Will historical seasons include the as-played schedule?
Will historical seasons have players who changed teams mid-season on the team they were on at the start of the season, or on the team where they played the most games that season?
Will historical seasons use historical logos for the teams?

No, iOOTP includes the historical schedules as planed before the season.

Thanks VERY much for the replies. The as-scheduled seasons (especially for deadball years) will be great, compared to most auto-generated (modern style) seasons, so that's great news.

Too bad on the logos, but I expect that there will be some nice mods available not too long after release, at least for those of us who are using jailbroken devices.

In regards to the schedule, will we still be able to reduce the standard number of games in a season? This is huge for me, as I cut it in two or three to play out all of the games. Thanks.

No sorry, there is no schedule customization.

Out of curiosity, why is it that you're allowed to use player and team names without the MLBPA or MLB getting involved (I'm guessing here since players like Kevin Millar, Brendan Donnelly, etc. are all in the game when they're barred from the MLBPA for being replacement players)

Because the highest court ruled a few years ago that player names & stats are public domain. Try googling it, it was a pretty big deal in the press.

FWIW, I'm hoping that once the app is released, there will be mods (including schedule) available. But you'll have to be jailbroken on your device to use them most likely.

If Markus is inclined to assist then mods could be created without jailbreaking by using the 'FileSharing' feature available to apps in iTunes.

(FMHi uses this to allow people to share tactics and suchlike with others)

Good point. I was thinking of wholesale replacements for things like the names database or team logos, but that option would work as well. But you're right--the game itself would have to allow user selection of that stuff, right? It's not something that the game would be unaware of.

Revisiting the original question. . .when the app goes live at version 1.0, will I be able to buy past seasons via in-app for $0.99 immediately, or are past seasons to be added for in-app buy via updates later?

The in-app purchase will be part of the first update, which I will start coding tomorrow.

I would like to see either the 55' or 56' season made available (if I either get an iPhone or there is an eventual Android version, that is) just so I can have Herb Score before the line drive.

At some point all seasons will be available.
