Game Play within Leagues

G'day, mates.

I've just picked up OOTP and am looking to join/start up a league after playing another baseball app in leagues for over 15 years.

The leagues that I have been in have all allowed owners of other teams to play their home games and then email in results which could be imported into the commissioner's version of the league software.

I know some team owners don't care for the games as much as the drafting and empire building aspects, but for me and many other people actually playing the games for your team is a huge plus.

Given that the online manuals and tech support have indicated it must be the commissioner only that plays/sims the games I was wondering:
(1) has anyone found a workaround that will allow individual teams to play their games and pool their results? or,
(2) is there any plan to add this functionality to the league features for OOTP? These types of leagues have huge potential to expand the OOTP market share as there are a lot of leagues out there using other apps (like APBA's Baseball for Windows) where the game development is non-existent and the only reason people are still playing in these leagues is it allows actually playing the games versus an AI manager or even head to head using join.me etc. I know of at least two of these leagues of 24-28 owners that would switch en masse to OOTP if this functionality was available.

Any help/input would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to OOTP by far my fav sim sports game. I have played Strat, APBA and other games over the past 35 years and nothing compares imho to OOTP in value and enjoyment.

1) - Not possible unless you play on your own.
2) - No plans from what I have read so far.

There is enough manager logic to properly control your team in OOTP. It is easy to use as well. So please keep that in mind when comparing it to BBW or SOMBB where they have limited features to manage a team without your control. An example; the SOMBB bullpen logic is difficult to use and for most they don't even use it. In OOTP it is as detailed and simple to use.

Thanks very much although not the answer that I was hoping for. Ideally there would be more of a balance between management in the front office/on the field ... make me feel like less of a geek.

I was thinking it should be theoretically possible since you're updating team info with changes each team makes prior to the week's games being played (having each team act as a commissioner????) ... but oh well.

I will keep tinkering and try to get the game to do something it was not designed to do.
