Game freezes and craches gameplay

The game freezes or crashes in different places during the match. Sometimes it's when I'm going into a game when you see the lineups and sometimes it's in the middle of the game. It also varies how often it happens. Sometimes it's games 1-5 and sometimes I can play over 20 games. Usually I still hear the sound of the audience etc. But then it crashes. I managed to find the trace file, but it was too big to add up, as I played many matches before the error.

I play on pc laptop and have it on steam. It's a Lenovo IdealPad 3 15IAU7 8GB Ram Intel Iris Xe Graphics.

Hope you can help me solve this. Then the game basically becomes unplayable as it is now. The fact that it can also take hours between the crashes and freezing makes it very difficult to test just about all the adjustments that you are talking about.

Have you updated your video card drivers? That might not solve things, but it can definitely help in similar cases, so it's a very good first step to take.

Also, what game mode are you using?

The biggest help for us here will be if we can get a trace file showing the crash. So even if it's big, if you can just take the whole file and attach it to a post here (or if it's too big, upload to Dropbox/Google Drive and post a link to that, it would be a big help.

Thanks for the quick response. Everything is up to date on the computer. Bought it yesterday and updated the rumble. I run modern 3d view. I can also announce that when it freezes, I can still move the mouse. But I can't push anything. I can paste in the last bit on trace. I hope its usefull. I mean the whole thing is over 2 hours of gameplay.

That's the end of the trace?

Yes that's the last line. But I'll also say that just this time, I was thrown out of the game and into steam at once. Usually it freezes and then after a time when absolutely nothing happens, I have to finish everything myself by changing the window by dragging three fingers over the pointing fabric. And then everything hangs and the only way is to end the game by pressing stop through steam. I'll attach the start as well.

We're working on debugging this but given it doesn't happen on all systems (or even most), it's taking some time.

One thing that may help is if you're seeing this, if you go to main screen > settings > 3d & facegen > Open GL Mode > then select 'Use OpenGL only for 3D'

Please try that out and let us know if you still see this after that or not.

For anyone having these issues, we've made a build that will hopefully fix the black screens and crashing when pinch-hitting for a pitcher or switching to or from 2d modes.

If you're on Steam, you can access this by doing the following:

Joining the OOTP 24 beta
  • Open Steam client -> Library
  • Right click on Out of the Park Baseball 24
  • Click on "Properties" at the bottom of the menu
  • Click on the beta tab.
  • Open the beta pull-down and select "beta". The password is ootp24betapt
  • Close the Steam client (Steam menu -> Exit)
  • Open the client again. It should then download the beta build if there is one

If you're on the standalone/Fastspring version then please download and install the patch from any of the following links:

Windows: https://cdnfiles.ootpdevelopments.co...otp24setup.exe

Mac:
https://cdnfiles.ootpdevelopments.co...4Installer.dmg

Please let us know if this fixes the crashing issues for you (and also runs smoothly otherwise). We'd like to release this as a hotfix asap but need a few more eyes on this first to make sure things are properly fixed. Thanks
