132,000 points

I know there are frequent posts complaining about drop rates from purchasing and opening packs. I had ignored my pack only team long enough that I had accumulated over 132,000 points, which I used to buy 132 standard packs.

Selling off duplicates as I went, completing missions and selling off those rewards as well, then reinvesting in single packs led to the initial 132 packs becoming a total of 404 standard packs, plus 4 gold and 2 diamond packs from missions.

Over those 404 packs, I pulled three perfects, Rickey Henderson, Roy Campanella and DeGrom. I had already pulled the Henderson card in a standard pack before, so I flipped it for 80k, part of the reinvestment strategy above. Those three perfects were pulled within the first 25 or so packs, so I did not get another one in the last 375 packs opened.

I also pulled 10 historical Diamonds and 5 Live Diamonds, plus 6 more SE Diamonds came from pack pulls that completed missions.

There were also 33 live Gold and 10 historical Gold as part of the overall pull. I didn't track and measure value of any silver cards or below, but all told, the 132,000 point investment worked out to a realized value of around 400,000 points in card, auction and reward value.

I always play with one pack only team each year, just for the randomness of seeing which players become part of my team. Pack only is never a winning strategy, but given the extensive sets of missions, which inflate both the price of historical cards plus the eventual reward value beyond the card itself, I believe the value of a standard card pack is higher in PT 21 than it was in PT 19 or PT 20.
