Tell Me More
I enjoy playing OOTP very much. I see a lot of talk about online leagues and it sounds very interesting. Could someone tell me more about online gaming. I would very much be interested in joining a league also.
email me at davec@famvid.com Thanks Dave |

OOTP1 - I am disappointed at this quote from Aussie Mark:
" The most comprehensive listings of online OOTP leagues are at Statbasedbaseball .... http://www.sportplanet.com/sbb and Historically OOTP .... http://www.sportplanet.com/sbb/hootp " The AFBL has 62 leagues enlisted...HOOTP has 29. I didn't count the ones on statbasedbaseball, but in any case if you need to find a league, go to The Association of Fantasy Baseball Leagues! (link in signature) January 2002 League Award sign-up is now posted. Visit the message board under "Open Forum." The AFBL mainpage will be updated tomarrow with it's 62nd new league...Horray!

David,
What you don't realize is that this FAQ was written last spring, almost a year ago and so from the "league listing" perspective is out of date.

Steve's right, I wrote that months ago, just after OOTP3 was first released.

Plus HOOTP doesn't have those annoying pop-ups and AFBL doesn't list the two best(in my opinion) Old-timer sims; MLB Century and Boys of Summer.

OOTPLinks.com has alot of leagues listed as well.
Jestre, I'm hurt that you didnt list my league as one of the best, in your opinion. I won't name it as I'm trying to cut down on blatant advertisement. |

Mark, if you recall my comments in a previous thread on what I look for in an oldtimer league you would know why I chose BOS and MLBC as the best and didn't include GD; BOS and MLBC DON'T have free agency GD does, BOS and MLBC do have an historical setup with edited fielding and running ratings, Glory Days does not.Glory days uses free agency, has NL and AL broken into 2 divisions each and I don't believe you edit players that are brought in from lahman. These are important factors 'I' look for in an oldtimer league. Personal preference, others prefer your setup.

You're PARTLY correct. Players entering the league ARE edited.
My reply to you was "tongue-in-cheek" anyway because I knew your reasons. [ December 12, 2001: Message edited by: Cooleyvol ]
|

lol, we have 63 leagues now...Once we get to 100, I will cleanout the deadwood
we just enlisted one of the best leagues I have ever seen on the net...Front Office Baseball League It's gona be fun to see how the 2002 January awards pan out, we've had about 15 new members join in the past month. so now we are up to: 28 OOTP leagues 26 FPS leagues 2 DMB leagues 1 Rotisserie league 1 play at home by yourself and post on the web league ...and 5 dead leagues
