Smile Spring Training Roster -> Finally.

Just FYI - I just completed development of the option to set a Spring Training roster size... that means, that you are no longer restricted to players from the 40-man roster to participate in Spring Training. Together with the option to sign free agents to minor league contracts which include a major league option, it basically means you can have non-roster invitees in OOTP 15, too.

Oh, and you can now specify the length of Spring Training as well (1 - 6 weeks).

OK, I think I deserve a beer tonight.

Now if only the 3D graphics work didn't keep Markus from improving the core gameplay!

AWESOME!!

Markus - if you add a non-40 man roster Minor Leaguer to your ST roster and option him down say midway thru ST, does that count as an option?

Uh, yeah you do!

What exactly will you be drinking? I know they take their beer seriously in your neck of the woods.

It shouldn't. If it does, it'll be a problem.

Hmmm, that sounds suspiciously like a suggestion I've made in the past...

By the way, will the number of games played in the spring training schedule be customizable in some way? With different length of spring training period presumably the number of games should scale with the length. (That's how I proposed it, at any rate.)

A player cannot be "optioned" to the minors unless he is on your 40-man roster and has option years remaining. A non-40-man roster player, in real life, is simply re-assigned from the major league spring training camp to the minor league spring training camp.

Of course... it even cuts down the roster as spring training progresses.

Not directly, it schedules 6 games per week, and in my tests that works well...

Actually, I opted for a bottle of red wine. A Spanish wine from the Rioja region, very nice

Close enough for now.

But for next year, how about dedicated spring training schedule files? They can pretty much use the same format as the regular season schedule files do (with the exception of adding a location parameter, so that way games can be assigned to parks in Florida or Arizona or wherever the user wishes).

According to OOTP itself, OOTP MLB play (modern and historical) outnumbers OOTP fictional play three to one.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.
