The Mets will be updating the color of their striped home jersey for next season.
Quote:
The Mets plan to go retro with their pinstriped home uniforms next season. Those uniforms will change to off-white, as they were in the 1960's, from their current bright white. That will also serve to differentiate the pinstriped uniforms from the solid home uniforms, which will remain the brighter white.

The Golden Baseball League is expanding beyond the mainland for the first time.

The minor league baseball business said it expects to have a team on Maui for the 2010 season.

With headquarters in San Ramon, Calif., the Golden Baseball League has 12 teams in California, Utah, Arizona, Canada and Mexico.

After receiving more than 6,000 entries, including duplications, the front office of Richmond's Double-A baseball franchise has selected five finalists.

Flatheads. Flying Squirrels. Hambones. Rock Hoppers. Rhinos.

The Richmond team will adopt one of those names, all offered by the public in a name-the-team contest. The winner will be announced by Oct. 15.

Apparently, Richmond has added Hush Puppies to the above list. Not sure that's not a trademark though. I'm thinking they're stacking the deck so that they'll have to pick Rhinos.

In with the new, out with the nutria.

The New Orleans Zephyrs unveiled their new logo on Tuesday morning, marking the first time in six years that the club has significantly altered its appearance. Whereas the previous logo prominently featured mascot Boudreaux the nutria, the new look emphasizes what has long been New Orleans' most recognizable symbol -- the fleur de lis.

In a press conference Wednesday afternoon, the Jacksonville Suns (Class AA; Southern League) unveiled their new look for the 2010 season, including a number of color and uniform changes.

The new logo features a black, gold and “old gold” color combination. An outer black trace around the word “Suns” and the sun head logo have been added. While not a full logo redesign, the new colors are a change from the former red, yellow and blue colors held since being renamed the Suns in 1991.

The Reds are selling their Florida State League affiliate to the Pirates. The Sarasota Reds will become the Bradenton Pirates (or whatever they name them).

To replace the high Single-A team, the Reds will take over the Pirates’ Lynchburg team in the Carolina League.

All this is subject to apporval by the FSL, but it almost certainly will happen.

The Reds’ team in the Gulf Coast League will be replaced by a team in the Arizona Summer League.

I think members of this forum have come up with better uniform designs for their fictional solo/online leagues.
