FHM6 Hotfix, Version 6.6.70, Now Available

A new hotfix update for Franchise Hockey Manager 6, version 6.6.70, has just been released.

This hotfix is primarily to correct a problem with 6.6.68 that made games in leagues with 19-skater rosters impossible to continue, another bug that could break all the team budgets in custom games with historical finances activated, and a couple of other things we didn't want to leave unfixed for several weeks. However, unlike a typical hotfix, the problems took a while to become evident, and we'd already made a bunch of other fixes, changes, and additions by that point. So, this is really somewhere between a hotfix and a full update. One new feature we'd been planning to include in the final update in March, the ability to start a new standard game in control of a national team, is included. But it hasn't been tested extensively, so be aware that it's possible we may run into some unanticipated issues with it that'll get fixed in the March update.

To apply the update:

-If you are playing the FastSpring version, just download the setup file and install it over your current installation. There is no need to uninstall or unlicense your current copy! However, you should quit the game before installing it, of course.
-If you are playing the Steam version, the game will auto-update if you have that option active. If you don't see the update in your Steam update queue, you may need to exit and restart your Steam client.

Your existing savegames will be compatible with the updated game, but some of the update's fixes may not retroactively correct certain problems in existing saves.
Changes

-fixed the "not enough skaters" warning preventing the user from playing games in leagues that use 19-skater rosters
-starting a custom game with historical finances turned on no longer sets all the team budgets to $0
-added ability to start as a national team GM in a standard game
-traded salary-retained players should now show their correct cap hit/salary for the new team, instead of showing the league minimum salary value in some situations
-preseason tryout offers should now work properly for the user's team again
-the salary obligations tab now counts players on two-way contracts at their lower salary if they're not on the active roster or injured list (i.e., are on loan or in the minors) - so it will match the Player Payroll amount on the team finances screen; however, note that it'll only be an exact match on July 1 - as the season progresses and players move on and off the roster and up and down from the farm, the Player Payroll number will reflect the total amount the team has spent to date plus the amount the team would theoretically spend with its current roster for the remainder of the season (you can see this calculation in the Budget Information box of the Team Finances screen)
-the Continue button should now always open the draft window when a draft needs to be completed - this hadn't been happening consistently with certain leagues and drafts
-fixed potential crash caused by missing player contract data
-while watching a game, if you open the boxscore while game is underway and click on the name of one of the goalscorers, it now opens the correct profile
-sorting by fitness on the lineup screen's dressed list will now sort in the correct order
-when the Winnipeg 1974 challenge is successful, the user should now actually get the achievement, in addition to the in-game notification that he succeeded
-fixed occasional failure of players to recognize during contract negotiations that they've been offered their desired role
-on the autoplay standings screen, players on the user's team now have their name highlighted in red on the top 10 leaders at the side of the page
-if the user, playing as GM/HC, uses the staff screen Action button to move an assistant coach into the head coach's role, it no longer locks the "setting training" and "setting lineup & tactics" manager options to the wrong setting (user vs. the assistant, as required for GM-only)
-unclicking any of the categories in the news subscription settings of individual subscriptions should now work for all subscriptions, not just for the user's team and league
-clicking on the Salary Obligations tab on the Team Finances screen no longer opens the Cap Obligations tab the first time it's clicked
-a few small text errors/typos fixed

The database has not been updated, aside from a small number of revisions to the starting injuries/suspensions.

I’m having issues since the update where playing with 22 skaters on my roster the AI at random times calls someone up to make a 23 man roster. No idea if it was this or the last update when it started happening I’ve just noticed it now that I’m playing with 22 man roster.

Are you using any of the AI help buttons (AI Setup Roster, Assistant: Dress Players, etc.) or have any of the team control settings in Manager Options set to Assistant?

No, none. It’s just happened again, seems to happen on the first or second day of a month in completely random months.

OK, please upload the save if you can, I'd like to have a look at the exact specifics of what's happening there. If it was related to fixing lineups before a game, that might make sense, but this sounds like it may be a periodic roster AI thing going awry.
