Yenan Marchers

In the beta my team went absolutely nuts, at the intersection of my spreadsheets, lots of AH churning and a brutally skewed park.

In the live version, until OOTP 20, I'm going to be trying a neutral park and letting things play out.

That said, I want my nest egg to get larger as fast as possible and I don't care about performance in the Entry Pool.

Sooo, I'm capping the overall rating of my players at 64. Until the entry pool ends, anyone at 65 or higher is going directly into the AH. Once I get to Bronze league, I'll allow my team to use any Bronze.

I got lucky in my starter packs, getting an 86-point Wade Boggs. Boggs sold for about 15k, which was used to buy packs which contained a few more silvers/golds and a Carlos Carrasco. Carrasco sold for 11k. At the moment I have about 28k in Buy-It-Now value on the AH, an amount with which I am very happy after only two days (and no $$ spent). I owe a lot of it to my luck (Boggs is an unusually valuable Gold and really helped me get going).

As for my team, it could be doing worse. When I left for work this morning the Marchers were something like 27-35, which isn't great but isn't terrible. I'm actually pretty confident that I'll be able to field a decent sub-65 team eventually, but it's brutal to see how bad the options are (especially when I only had maybe 50 players to build my team from). I had almost no viable vL outfielders.

Shout out to Jurickson Profar, who is low-rated, can play almost every position (with some experience already in) and isn't a terrible hitter.

I'm looking forward to the challenge of keeping a bargain team competitive with my league. I expect to bump the OVR cap for my team by about 5 every week, but I may push the schedule up to pull value out of my AH cash-wad. My goal is to maximize this team while spending no more than 30-45 minutes a day on it, and there's a point (by the time you're opening 50+ packs a day) that doing so becomes relatively impossible. So we'll play it by ear.

But yeah, I expect to be sub-par through Entry Pool. I'll post screenshots of my roster when I get home.

Here's my team as the evening wraps up. I think we're getting a little lucky, but our pythag is fairly solid.

Okay, the bottom falling out of the Bronze market is really harshing my mellow. The whole point of the point restriction was to pump up my investment capital. So going forward, if it can't be reasonably BIN'd for 100+ it's open season for my roster.
