If i pre order, can i start playing and then continue everything once the steam key is released? I have OCD about having all my games in the same place, so I want OOTP 15 in Steam. How long after the release will the steam key be available?

No and no, because of licensing.

However, the user community provides mods to install the real logos. The quality is really very good.

You can access these mods from the game's splash screen through the Ad-Ons Central link.

Brad got this wrong I guess... everyone who preorders will indeed be able to redeem a Steam key for the game, we will set this up once the game is ready to be released on Steam which should be shortly after our own release.

We begin beta testing OOTP 15 tomorrow. The release date for pre-order customers is currently being planned for April 18th (April 21st for everyone else).

However, this may still slip a week or two if things do not go according to plan, so this is hardly a promise. We'll do the best we can to meet that date, though.
