League games issue

I tried posting this in the technical support forum but it wouldn't let me. So if this is the wrong spot, my apologies...

I'm currently running a created game, with two leagues (two divisions each of seven). I originally started with a smaller association, and have gradually expanded over 20 or so years of simming.

I started the game playing 110 games a year, and I've tried to increase that to 120 (and then 124) games by changing the appropriate field in the league setup screen. However, when the new schedule gets generated the following year, it still generates 110 games. I'm certain I'm doing something wrong, but I don't understand what. Any help would be appreciated.

Also, a different issue - The association has a hard salary cap, and the previous year I increased that from $32 million to $42 million, while also giving all player categories a 5-10% bump in average salary. Now, all but two teams are pretty severely over the cap, anywhere from 2 to 8 million. Is there a way of manually introducing cap and salary increases that avoids this sort of financial devastation? I could understand it if I'd dropped the cap, but it went the other way.

Thanks.

When you change the the length of games in a season for a league. I always go into the schedule editor and manually regenerate a new schedule. You can only do this in pre-season I believe. I have changed the number of games in the field in the league setup and forgot to regenerate a schedule and it would create a schedule for the previous amount that I had set up. Hope this makes sense.

As for the other question I will leave that to others who have more experience with hard salary caps.

Yes must regenerate schedule when you change the amount of games, I discovered that on 11 when my custom league went from 124 games to 130, 132, 138, 144, 154, 162 over 7 seasons. I didn't know after the 1st yr when I went from 124 to 130 and was at 124 again.

IIRC, the number of games will stay the same if it's not possible to make a schedule for the number of games you want with the number of teams you have.

Thanks everyone --- I didn't realize that the "fictional schedule" thing was what needed to be generated. Just did that and it created the 124 game schedule I was looking for.

Still trying to figure out the salary cap / revenue situation.
