Locking a catcher to a rotation spot
Some back-up catchers have personal catchers. Being able to set this in depth charts would have great value. "Start with #1 SP" rather than "every 5 days" would ensure this.

I actually like this. I remember David Ross would always catch Jon Lester and Tim Wakefield, but rest all other days.

And going back even further, Tim McCarver added several years onto his major league career by being Steve Carlton's personal catcher with the Phillies.
