1944 champions. Looks like there is a new dynasty.
In the last 28 years the cardinals, giants and cubs have won 26 of the 28 NL pennants.

After stunning the cardinals to win the NL pennant, the Pirates shock the Yankees to win the 1945 World Series.

1947 Champions.
Ty Cobb's Tigers couldn't do it.
Hank Greenberg's Tigers couldn't do it
But the 1947 Detroit Tigers win the first title in team history.
Time is running out on the St. Louis Browns.

1949 at the break.
I made backups of every season. I was using the almanac up to around 1930. Anyway i started copying every year from 1871 to around 1930 onto a portable hdd on saturday afternoon. My Computer just finished copying the data this evening.

1950 at the break.
With Dimaggio out for the year after 12 games,
Ted Williams may get a ring. But Detroit may have something to say about that.
The Dodgers look like they want another shot at the Tigers. While the Giants always seem to be in or near the playoffs. They have more playoff appearance than the Yankees but the Yankees have more championships.
