Fictional League with no minors/feeders question

Hello!

Ok, probably an obvious question but here goes.

If I create my league with no minors/feeders how to the players come about? Do they just get randomly generated going off the league reputation? What if I add no draft? will I just receive a random bunch of players each year?

Thanks for any help!

The game will typically create free agents through the year, as well as other teams releasing players to the FA pool.

If you have International FA on, then players come into the game through that route.

I would advise having a reserve roster that is at least 15 spots, if not more to allow placement of signed FA's.

Ok so International FA on and have at least a reserve roster to play them. Sounds good! Thanks for the help

If you're trying something like what you're describing, you might want to do a long term test once you've set it up to make sure the game generates enough players in the long run to keep things viable.

Ok, makes sense.

I'm guessing it's best to have a feeder system set up then? If I can ask one more question... If I set up a feeder league but no draft will the players just fall into the FA pool once they leave the feeders? Sorry I'm not so good with the fictional part of the game.

Just to be on the safe side, yes.

No feeders are necessary or even recommended. You can still have an amateur draft without any minors. And if you don't have a draft, the game will create enough free agents to keep the pool alive.

Many thanks Questdog and all who answered! I'll have a go when I'm home from work see if I can set one up.

It will be a Quebec based league. Just thought I'd throw that out there!

How do you add feeder leagues to an existing game. Is it possible?

I have an existing fictional league. I started with six teams and the game expanded it to eight. As I have moved along I am thinking that minor leagues would add to the experience. Can they be added without damaging the original game? If so, how?
Thank you.
