Most indepth league anyone's participated in/seen?

Whats the biggest, team wise, league anyone has run/tried to run. The question about independent league got me thinking and wondering what is the biggest anyone has run, been in, wanted to run.

This comes from my What might have been dynasty. In the end there are going to be these leagues by 1920:

MLB - 16 teams, 2 div (expand as the real life does)
National Association - 16 teams, 2 div(at least, could be more)
National Baseball League - 8-12 teams, 2 div however it works out
American Association - 8-12 teams, 2 div
Federal League - 8 teams, 2 div
The Players League - 8 teams, 2 divi

That makes, if minimum at 1920, 6 leagues, 64 teams and those would be only us/canada teams. It could be more if evolution of the league added teams or not.

Just wondering if there has been a league of this size run and if it would work. This could have other nations added eventually if wanted.

Just wondering what kind of interest this would bring to the World of OOTP Online league

I used to run a league using FPS Baseball back in the early 90s, 30 teams, full mlb, always was full and had owner from around the world, that was way back when, would be easier to do now. just thinking to myself, getting ideas/interest.

I ran a 64-team pro/rel league a few years ago. That was a lot of fun.

The NARBL Multi-player league I'm in has 2 Major leagues with 26 teams total, each with 6 minor league affiliates for a total of 156 teams and about 5,500 players on rosters. there are also almost 1,800 free agents in the pool...so that's pretty big
