Owner won't let me spend any $$
So I started a season with the KC Royals using updated rosters. I was like 73-89 my first year because I traded away a bunch of contracts, etc.
So I finished up my first year and go to the offseason. The front office screen says I have $19.5 million available for player and staff signings, and my current player payroll is only $31.5 million. Now I can't even sign a $700k player to a one year deal. It says "You have $19.5 million available for players signings, the owner does NOT approve of this deal." WTF? Anything I can do about this? Bleh. |

Thats the reason why 2 years into my career I changed the setting to let me have control over the $ I spend.

Unless you're giving the big money to Gil, front office types don't approve.

I've recently noticed this as well. I have a budget of $90 mil and my current payroll is $50 mil and I can't even do resigns of my current players. Something is not right here.

I'd put a post in the tech support forum, just to check.

The Marlin's owner also owns the Royals in your game apparently.

Just some thoughts on this, but things I've noticed are that the amount you have left for resigns includes budget room and cash. unfortinaly if your close to your budget your owner is not going to let you use that cash to sign players even though it says you have that room on that screen, the owner only aproves things that are inside that budget number in the uper left, this makes it conusing as you often have vastly diffrent numbers depending on the amount of cash you have on hand.
Don't know if this made if from 2006 but it was noticed (or Markus said it, don't remember which) that if you where close to being fired, that you would not be allowed to spend money or resign players, regardless of how much spending money the game told you had. |

I just disabled the "team owner controls budget" option, but I'm still getting the message when I try offering a contract to a free agent?

That game setup option does not work the way it should, owners in OOTP 2007 will sometimes overrule your decisions even if you have enough available cash and have "use entire revenue" selected in game options (as compared to 'let owner control budget').

Yeah, I recently posted a similar question and was shot down for not doing a search of the forums before I posted.
http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...d.php?t=149275 After replying that I had, in fact, done a search and did not think the reasons given in the previous thread applied, I received no further input (shrug) My only guess is that the "you control entire budget" setting does not work exactly as one might think by it's title. {Edited because I'm a bonehead and didn't get the copy/paste URL thingie right the first time...sigh} Last edited by kylemmie; 06-14-2007 at 08:21 PM. |
