How do you determine which MiLB affiliate gets your trades?

Ever since OOTP13, every time I worked a trade that involved minor leaguers, the minor leaguers defaulted to one of my rookie league teams. Beginning with OOTP20, they're defaulting to a different team. This isn't the most important thing in the world but I'd like to change it back. I can't find where to modify that setting, though. Anyone know?

It's not a big deal. If a guy you traded for isn't on the right minor league team just move him to the one you want him on. If I trade for a guy in AA for instance and the AI puts him somewhere else I just move him to my AA team.

I'm guessing that it may have something to do with who controls "Minor League Promotions/Demotions/Strategy," you or the AI? I have my control set to me and it seems every minor leaguer that I acquire is on the rookie affiliate roster when I go looking for him.

This has been a pet peeve of mine since I started playing with OOTP15.

MY logic says that if I am trading a AAA player for a AAA player, then the player I am trading for should be assigned to my AAA team and NOT my lowest level rookie team.

I doubt that the OOTP trade logic will get "fixed" anytime soon, since in 19 I also got umpteen dozen uneven offers in the AI's favor 99.9% of the time.

Trade logic has nothing to do with where the player is assigned once he's been acquired.

How about a little popup box that asks us where to send the new players we acquired immediately following the trade?

I get that, but I like to have the same team serving as my "collections agency" for all received players. It's easier for me to keep track of the comings and goings that way. I'd just like to be able to switch it back.

The game defaults to "lowest minor league affiliate," I believe, but I have multiple rookie league teams for this particular parent club so the game has to pick which one is the "lowest." For six years now, it's been Affiliate A and all of a sudden it jumped to Affiliate B.

I control everything with this club.

The "assign to lowest level" doesn't really bother me as I control all aspects of the team I run. It sends them to Rookie, I assign them where I think they should be. Pending on how thin or strong my system is, they might go to the same level they were at, above, or below a level.
