I'm sorry. I know you're frustrated. But this is beyond the point of stupid. This kind of crap is what gives Kansas City fans a bad reputation and has for decades.

Ned. Has. Zero. Good. Options.
no, you don't play escobar in center field just because he has a streak of starts. he is one of the worst hitters in MLB and for some reason yost thinks he is undroppable even at the expense of playing him out of position

and yes I do rather see rosell Herrera in the lineup over Almonte. mondesi over escobar. ANY AAA pitcher over Hammel.

bring in the young kids & blood em, because the veterans were not gonna take KC anywhere anyways

Ask what the Royal objectives are --
1. determine what good remains in the veterans and is the value (salary vs. performance) worth keeping the player.
2. See where your top level prospects are and if they can be competitive at the MLB level and confidence not broken by a poor performance.
3 . Evaluate the waiver wire
4 . Fill team needs with Free Agents or trade s
5. manage the pieces...

possible lineup of current players --- C = Salvy , 1B = Alex Gordon , 2B = Whit , 3B = Trade below , SS = Mondesi , LF = Jorge Bonifacio , CF = Trade below RF = ?? Almonte or Blake Perkins (**defense is ahead of offense ) ....

Trade Moose to Brewers for Asher p, Brandon Woodruff p, Herman Perez, Jake Gatewood inf ------------------------- Trade Duffy to Dodgers for Ross Stripling p , Kyle Farmer c/3b , and D.J. Peters of ----------------------------- maybe asking for too much but the deals can be made.

I would love to see Royals improve next year and win the Central in 2 years with the young draft picks.

I didn’t realize Ned can make trades too. Again, this is the stuff about Ned that is just embarrassing to hear. I asked for a lineup with what is there, and the person I asked ignored it.

You’ve assigned the role of GM, manager and the Almighty to yourself with your answer. I love the ridiculously fantastical fictional trades as if you can force trade like it’s a computer game.

I give up. You guys live on in your make believe world that doesn’t apply to real life human beings. Ned Yost has zero to do with why the Royals stink. He...and incidentally Alcides Escobar, have a lot to do with the two pennants in the last four years...soon to be five years... and a WS title.

Huge game for Mondesi last night, both at the plate and on defense. Really hoping he can get that average up, because he is exciting once he’s on base

He will be very good I think. Nothing is perfect, but I've seen him play for a long time.... He does things that are mind boggling sometimes. His hands and feet are so quick. He gets to pitches that shouldn't be hitable.

Mondesi...once again...quick hands, can hit almost any pitch anywhere, but does not miss mistakes much either. Smoked that homer today again.

Royals have issues - but seem to be playing some younger players and doing better. But they need to make trades now to improve their situation in 2 to 3 years. This has been the Royals approach since salaries sky rocketed.

2018 - salaries
A. Gordon -- $20 m -------------- 2019 = $ 20m
I. Kennedy -- $16 m ------ 2019 = $16.5 m ------ 2020 = $16.5 m
D. Duffy -- $14m ---------- 2019 = $15.25m ------ 2020= $15.25 ------ 2021 = $15.5
S. Perez --- $8.7m ------- 2019 = $11.2 ----- 2020 = 14.2m ------- 2021 = 14.2m
J. Soler ----- $4.67m ------ 2019 = $4.67 ------ 2020 = $4.67m ------ 2021 = ARB
J. Hammel ---- $9m ---------- 2019 = Buyout cost $2m
Moose ----- $5.5 m ------- 2019 = Buyout cost $1m
D. Butera ----- $2.3m
L. Duda ------ $3.5 m

Complete list - https://www.baseball-reference.com/t...ontracts.shtml

Perez and Moose more than earn those salaries in today's market. Duffy not sure ?? Gordon is not a $20m player ; he may have been without the hip injury but he is not at that level.

So where are the trades ----- Kennedy and Soler would take $20m+ off the books.

Name one reason why a sane team would trade for Kennedy, a train wreck ablaze with a sunday school excursion trapped inside, or Soler, who might be cheap and hitting decently, but defends like a guy with no legs at all.

Exactly.

Stop fudging around with your DH slot, which is there *exactly* for the Solers in the game. Why is Duda DH'ing? He's a reasonably competent defensive first baseman! Stick Soler at the fake position, and work it from there.

I have no smart solution for Kennedy. Kennedy can only be fixed by acts of god.

I don't see the Royals trading any of their big contracts - Kennedy is just finding a way to move the money off the books ( try to work a settlement ). With Kennedy the Royals maybe forced to cut him , pitch him till he is injured and collect insurance, or do a Mets type deal . *** every July 1 through 2035 is the day when the New York Mets pay Bobby Bonilla $1,193,248.20. --- that is almost $1.2 m. ***

Hammel > just find someone to take part of his salary. AND that is wishful.

Duffy > over the next 4 years is he going to be worth the contract ? Injuries ?

Royals are in a mess with the salaries if the young players don't develop.

You don't say…

There are always teams that will take a flyer on a 37-year-old formerly good batter, and Bonilla was somewhat reasonable for the 2000 Braves.

If you are a pitcher with those stats, you don't find another job.

And wondering whether a pitcher will be worth the investment in him because of potential injuries is futile anyway without regard to the sum of money they are owed. There are pitchers every year that get the league minimum of some $500k and miss the entire season. Was that a worthwhile investment?

if it prevented you from paying $1m to another pitcher who also missed the entire season, then YES!

9 teams interested in Moustakas

https://www.mlb.com/news/moustakas-t...?tid=282421090

no, the Royals wont get a package of top 50 prospects for him, but they'll probly have a wide range of tier 2-3 prospects to choose from

Royals are at Yankees tonight and I caught the radio announcers as they were talking about how Alex Gordon has really tailed off these past few years and nobody knows why.

This resonated with me for a couple of reasons: I had not thought about Gordon at all for quite a while but when they reminded me, I remembered a time when I would covet him for pinstripes. How long ago was that, I wondered?

His last decent year looks like 2015 but his last really good season was 2012. 2012! Where the heck does the time go?

Well, you know what they say. Time flies when you're not watching the Royals! (Sorry. )

I almost flew up for this series. A meeting stopped me from doing it. Whew. I’d have been one sad puss behind home on the TV!

I always enjoy a good drubbing. It’s like watching the Florida Gators play a high school team.

Edit: I hope Judge’s wrist and Sonny’s thumb are good. That would stink if not.

Yeah, that sure salvages a .311 season.
