411 on Royals pitching draft picks
I was all set to follow the draft on TV and thru the process and I missed it entirely. Can someone give me a quick thumbnail and grade on how they did? Not asking any of you to wrote bios of every pick. Just an overall how they did and if the future looks bright or pitch black (no pun intended). I know we took something like 6 or 7 pitchers in as many picks.

Singer is pretty highly regarded. MLB.com had him as the number 2 prospect in the draft I think. He most likely fell because of money and since the Royals had one of the largest bonus pools it seems like a good fit. He's the crown jewel of the draft.
Kowar was also a good value pick, MLB.com had him ranked 15th Some of the other guys were overdrafted but will sign for less than slot money so we can afford Singer and Kowar. I like the strategy of get as many college arms as possible and see how it pans out. The Royals have not had luck developing high school pitchers recently so college arms seem to be the way to go. here's a link to the entire draft 2018. click on TEAM and you can get to KC. then when that list shows up, on the far right side of each player is "v" if you click on it, it'll give a bit of bio on the player. i couldn't get just the KC link to work.
hope it helps. https://www.mlb.com/draft/tracker/drafted/

What happened to the Royals? They were champs 2 or 3 years ago and now last place. Are they really that bad or is it due to some bad injuries to key players?
