Big news. Affects a lot of people for their own selfish reasons...

I feel for him. Here's hoping for a quick recovery, and if not...that he is at least surrounded by loved ones.

No matter what you think of Georgie and his ways, he made them relevant again in a big way. He had to get suspended in order to get it done right, but his success was incredible.

RIP Georgie. Thanks for the memories that your Yankees created for me both bad (80s) and good (78, 90s).

Love him or hate him, he was a native Ohian who never forgot where he came from. He tried to buy the Indians in the mid-60s. Things would have been very interesting in northeast Ohio had he been successful in buying the team.

Gibson swings, and a fly ball to deep right field! This is gonna be a home run! Unbelievable! A home run for Gibson! And the Dodgers have won the game, 5 to 4; I don't believe what I just saw! I don't believe what I just saw!

The Boss is gone

George Steinbrenner has died after suffering a massive heart attack. A legend of baseball has passed on.

Rest in peace, Boss.

Very sad, the greatest owner in the history of sports. No man had a greater desire to win.

And only George can do it on the day of the all-star game, stealing headlines away just one more last time like only he could do.

RIP George, you will be missed.

Like him or not, you can't find fault in a guy who wanted his team to be the best and would do whatever he could to make that happen. As a Yankee fan, I'm saddened. As a baseball fan, I feel an icon is gone.
