Weird sequence in this play

So, regular season game, second inning, nothing unusual. Houston versus San Diego and Winfield tries to steal 3rd base. The Astros catcher takes ball 3, gets up to walk out and talk to J.R. Richard, and oh yeah, throw out (or try to) Winfield. Maybe this sort of thing is why no one remembers Skip Jutze these days.

Seriously, is this a bug? Seems like it, but I can't tell if it caused him to screw up the attempt to throw out Winfield.

It should be conditioned for use only with the bases empty. But it is not. Just a simple mistake.

Of course, I suppose that if Jutze HAD done this in a real game, EVERYONE would remember him because it would be immortalized in a blooper reel somewhere.
