OOTP 6.0/6.5 to OOTP Baseball 2006/2007 Schedule Converter
Here it is, the 6.0/6.5 to 2006/2007 schedule converter.
Current version 2.0. New in this version: -Ability to convert a schedule generated using Stickware Schedule Generator. -Parsing of Stickware schedule to determine if and when an All-Star game is scheduled. -Editing of schedules with find/replace capabilities. -No more choosing league structure. Just choose number of sub-leagues and teams in each division using dropdown boxes. -Ability to clear fields to convert another schedule. And that's the new stuff for now. If anyone has any problems, feel free to drop me a line. EDIT: Fixed an issue where when choosing the CSV or text file, it wasn't converting. Fixed another issue where clearing the dropdown boxes was clearing them completely (as in no more numbers!). This will also be the last update unless another issue crops up. One thing I notice about my schedule file that's different from all the stock ones that came with the game is that the first entry for games is Day 1 in all the other files, but is Day 98 in mine.
Not sure if that's relevant. I just took a 14 team 154 game schedule and converted it. I've tried it as one league 2 divisions of 7 and two leagues with one division of 7 in each league with the same result. |

Looking at that _1908.lsdl file I see some problems. In the SCHEDULE heading line there should be a "G" preceding the number of games in the type definition. Also the start_day_of_week needs a closing double quote after the value.
An important thing is that the day numbers in the GAME lines should begin at 1 for games to start on the set start date. In OOTP6 the game number was the daynumber for the year, but the format is different here. If the first GAME day number in the OOTP2006 file is 98 then the first game would be 98 days after the start date. |

I don't understand why it converted that schedule in that way, then.

I've since got it to convert with the heading line correct, but the day still begins with 98.

Could you explain a bit more please?
What goes in the League name slot? How do the Open & Save to slots work? I have gotten run-time '76' "path not found" errors, though I do have the program in the folder with the file I attempted to convert. Should there be any part of the directory there? |

You can put the name of your league in the League Name Slot. This allows your file to have a unique name. In the open slot, just choose the file you wish to convert and in the save slot, choose which directory you wish to save it too.
Thanks for pointing that out, though. I guess I could have put a little more in it, but I'll fix it. EDIT: I'd like to thank everyone for pointing out my mistakes. Hopefully we've caught all of them. I've caught one more myself, the scheduling of the All-Star game and should have that one cleared up as well. This new update should work now with no problems, but, as always, if anymore crop up, feel free to drop a line and I'll fix it. EDIT 2: I've added tool tips for the League Name and Open and Save To slots. Last edited by LeafsFan2005NC; 06-05-2006 at 01:13 AM. |

Ah, the first explanation makes sense now - it uses the league name for the resulting filename so you just to specify the save to directory. Finally got it to work.

As a complete newcomer to this, how would I take the .txt files in the OOTP 6 forums and convert them to 2006. I changed the extension to .csv but I keep getting a file that only contains the header.
Specifically, I'm trying to convert this schedule: http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...&postcount=646 |

Yes, I see what you speak of, Stu. As mentioned, I've still to get the program to convert the file with the notes included. As a fix for now, just delete all the notes beginning with #. I will also fix so that you can choose *.txt files.
Thanks again, everyone. |

It works when you choose txt files, you just have to change it to "All Files" rather than ".csv" |

Yes, thank you, though, for pointing that out. I've fixed it so you can choose the *.txt files and so that you can choose a file with notes included. The program will now strip those notes and create a temporary file which it then converts to the new format.

Hello again. I was looking at my converter today and managed to fix a few more errors. I noticed that when you open a file with a comma at the end of a line, you end up getting an error when you go to convert. This has been fixed.
I also noticed that I had reversed the home team and visiting team identifiers! So if anyone has noticed a home team showing up as an away team, then you can blame me, lol. This has been fixed as well. One addition I've made is the inclusion of a notes window. This is helpful when you load one of LGO's historical schedules (or any schedule with notes) and need to know what day the season should start on, number of games, etc. without having to open said file in another program. |

"You must choose the directory to save the file to" --- that's the message I get when I try to convert a schedule. I did specify a folder to "Save To" before hitting the "Convert" button. What am I doing wrong? Please help. Thanks.
