Two way player question
I am sure this has been asked before, but I have 100 Babe Ruth. Want to use him as a SP, but also keep him batting 3rd in the lineup every game at DH too, including the ones he starts as a SP.
If I force start him at DH and batting 3rd in player strategy, will this make sure he stays in the batting lineup at DH when he is pitching? Thanks in advance.... |

I don't think the game allows it because it would mean that all subsequent pitchers would be forced to bat and that the DH cannot be used as part of a double switch strategy and the game just is not likely to be programmed to handle this rare situation.

Bailey is right. Two way players not only can't bat the same day they pitch, my understanding is that they are also programmed to not bat the day before a start (and maybe the day after too).

Maybe if AI is in control. Not so if you are.

Are you sure? I know this was something that came up in tournaments where people are really pushing two way players and the 7-day lineups didn't seem to be working as folks had expected.

I can confirm that 2-way player works as described. Even if the 2-way player is set to DH, he will not DH on the day he pitches and the day before. "Usually" he will bat the day after he pitches, but he also tires more quickly than expected, so about every third time, he will sit the day after as well.
