No Movement or Trade Clause? No Problem! Just Use the Trade Block For All Your Cap Relief Needs

February 24, 2022. Slovakia beat the United States in the Winter Olympics just a few days ago. Nikita Zaitsev and Bobby Ryan have been sitting on the trade block for a while now (my first time putting anyone on the TB in this game was opening day of 2021/2022 for the Senators). The Jets and Oilers email me some trade offers. They want to offer career AHLers for my bums? Please, have a seat! Can I get you some water? But wait, they both have no trade clauses (+ a NMC for Ryan). But wait, it says complete trade in the email proposals. If I were to offer this exact trade from the trade screen, both these guys are no way Jose, but from the email screen, one simple click and my cap problems are solved.

Possible feature to emulate these players waiving their no trade/movement clauses? Maybe. If that was the case, I feel like the game should/would be providing me with way more feedback if that was the case. I feel like there is a glitch with AI trade offers not accounting for these contract clauses. Maybe it's just an AI to Human offer glitch, but this doesn't feel right. Would have put them both on the block way earlier if I knew this could happen.

BUT WAIT. THERE'S MORE. Bobby Ryan is now playing for the Manitoba Moose. If I could have stashed him in the minors, I would have (but to be fair, I think I only tried once. Regardless, what team would trade for a bad Bobby Ryan and then put him in the minors? To hit the cap floor? This late in the season? Makes no sense)

Bobby Ryan - UFA at the end of the year, but bad. At 7.25 mil, a team could raid the minors for a better player to improve their team. He's been riding the bench outside day-to-day injury relief.

Nikita Zaitsev - 4.5 mil for another 2 years after this one. Oh, he's in the minors too now.

I've also had issues with the trade block. I put expensive players on there and get offers from teams that can't even afford the player. If I accept the initial offer it works anyway but if I change anything (like asking for a trade pick in addition) and then go back to their initial offer the AI says they can't afford it. Weird.
