Daytona 500 Thread

I'm looking forward to the race. I kind of wish NASCAR would end the season with the Daytona 500 instead of start but tradition is tradition.

Who's your bet to win it?

4 crew chiefs suspended; most EVER for one race in NASCAR history. Guess they are trying to get serious about under-the-hood cheating this season.

I'd be more worried about the Air Force if you wonder about sheer volume of fuel consumed.

Besides the suspensions, there were fines and point deductions levied. Matt Kenseth, for example, will start the season at -50 points.

But the Air Force gets to do cool stuff like kill people. Now if there were human obsticles on the tracks (Old ladies crossing; kids jaywalking; bicyclists) it would be more interesting.

dsvitak can confirm, but I'd say .001% of the fuel the Air Force uses in a given year, even during this Wur un turror, is used in actual killing.

On an aside, it is still a TMF ( worth) to have Brad Daugherty talking NASCAR on ESPN.

What if half the cars went from right to left and the other half of the cars went from left to right. How exciting would that be?

When I had CART World Series for PSX I used to just turn around, drive backwards, and try to take out as many people as I could when I fell behind too far.
