If i buy OOTP8....

will it automaticly download over OOTP2007? In other words is this like a patch I am paying for that will change the files to the name OOTP 8?

No, install it as a unique program. I use both.

Yes, I finally have a, uh, "consultation" version (2007) in my office to go along with my fully operational version (8) at home. I might find myself "consulting OOTP" more often than ever this way.

You can have both on the same computer. Works fine.

According to OOTP itself, OOTP MLB play (modern and historical) outnumbers OOTP fictional play three to one.

Five thousand thanks for a non-modder? I never thought I'd see the day. Thank you for your support.

What's the benefit of having both, if OOTP 8 can do everything OOTP 2007 can? I haven't gotten OOTP 8 yet, but planned to. Are there things you can't do that you can with 2007?

This thread shows the added features of v8 over v2007:

I had seen that. But what I meant was, since v8 does everything 2007 does as well as what's outlined in that thread, why would you still keep 2007 on your computer? It's not a criticism by any means, I just to be sure I'm not missing something.

Ahhh, I see. Sorry, misunderstood ya. I never did get v2007 but if I had and then I got v8, I'm sure v2007 would be where v2006 is.

The only thing I could think of is since they are almost the same you could always use v2007 to test a bunch of stuff or settings as to not mess up your v8 stuff.

No need to apologize Your explanation makes sense. You import into v8 as a save, but test in 2007 until it's all working well.
