AA Replay Opens Shop!
Announcing the American Association Replay (AAReplay.com)! Its not really a ‘replay’. A better description is a reimagining of the historical American Association. This idea comes from Al Borie, who runs the PCL Redux (www.pclredux.net), probably the best online league I’ve ever been a part of.
My AA Replay is based on Al’s template with a few changes. MLB runs alongside the league and players can move back and forth under certain rules. Take your club from 1936 into the future! Our AA has broken the color line, been awarded major league status, and, in addition to having the actual AA rosters each season, it allows ‘regional professionals’ who were born in the AA states, plus Illinois and Michigan. Our 8 GMs will be given 5 ‘slots’ to protect certain players who might have moved to other AA clubs in certain years or the top players available to the league. How is works: 1. You get your club’s real life roster from whatever season we are in. 2. Each preseason, we draft from debuting negro and ‘regional pros’. 3. Those players that were on your roster last season and left the AA for OTHER leagues in real life, are still yours. 4. You make your roster from the above and keep 30 total players (25 active/5 reserve) for that season. That is a very brief snapshot of how the league works. Want to learn about some minor leaguers from the 30s? This is for you. Want to compete for the sake of competing? This is definitely for you. What if a future MLB great began his career with your AA club? You can slot him and keep him forever! There are 8 clubs in the league. If you have interest, PM or email (cooley@charter.net) me with a list of preferred clubs and we’ll get started by drafting prior to the first season. Clubs are: Columbus Red Birds - claimed Indianapolis Indians - claimed Kansas City Blues - claimed Louisville Colonels - claimed Milwaukee Brewers - claimed Minneapolis Millers - claimed St Paul Saints - claimed Toledo Mud Hens - claimed The website is live at www.aareplay.com You can find the rules linked at the top. Reports are up with the actual AA rosters completed and the first draft class listed as free agents. Thanks for reading and hope to hear from a few of you very soon. Blues are a NYY affiliate for quite a few years. Means that team will get first crack at Rizzuto, Mantle and a bunch of others. Should form a strong base for the team in a league with some unique and fun rules.
