They are all simulated. There should be a countdown in the upper right of the screen.

You have to wait a bit until you get put into the entry pool. The game will auto schedule you then, you just need to set your team.

That was NOT in the starter packs. I used the extra 1K it came with to purchase another pack.

It happens automatically on our servers whether you have the game open or not.

You only need to open the game to see what's happening, adjust your rosters or lineups, buy more packs or bid on an auction.

I ended up with a record breaker card for 1912 Clyde Milan (stole 88 bases that year). He grabbed 3 in our first game. It was a glorious 30 minutes of being atop our division in the entry pool after riding the arm of '91 All-Star Glavine to a win.
