Can you pick players from different years
Just wondering if you can create your own team by choosing different players from different years.
: )

Go to the league transactions screen. Click on the actions/import historical player. Then read the manual to import any player. Importing Historical Players section.

You can also import in groups by creating a text file with a list like this:
alomasa02,1997,CLE fossera01,1973,OAK griffke02,1996,SEA haasmo01,1983,ML4 howarfr01,1969,TEX bosmadi01,1969,TEX abernte02,1972,KCA mooredo01,1985,LAA Just look for the box on the import player screen for importing a txt file You will find players are automatically added to the roster you want them added to if you include the 3 letter abbreviation ID for the intended team like I did above Alternately you can leave the team abbreviation off and they will go into the free agent pool until picked up by a team or assigned a team by you

Thanks again fellas for the help. But evidently there is a lot more to this.
I couldn't get anything to work. It won't let me have just 2 teams which of course is ok but it's crazy to me. I'll mess around with it a little more and then just let it go.

Are you looking to create a "league" with only 2 teams?

Yes...the ideal would be to just have two teams. One would contain my cousins top Cubs players from different years and mine would be my top White Sox players.
A league wouldn't be bad if needed but we would just play a schedule against each other. We have done this at times through 50 plus years...from dice to computers. Did it as teens and now we are both 75. : ) But it looks to be very difficult to setup.

Another option would be under the Quickstart menu. There's an option for an all-time franchise greats league, called "All-Time Greatest," featuring the best players for each franchise. You can delete all of the other teams except the Cubbies and Sox, and create your own schedule for this new 2-team league.

Ok, fellas...hope you have been doing well.
I tried different things but couldn't get things to work out. But I got close. When I tried the Quickstart All Time Franchise Greats league with just the Cubs and White Sox it worked out quite well. But the problem of course was that the game chose some players as All Time Greats that my cousin and I had chosen a different player for that position etc. For example...and I forget now what the Cubs had listed but they did not have Ernie Banks listed anywhere and he is one of my cousins favorite players. And there were a few players on my White Sox team that I would have replaced with someone else. I could not find anyway to try and remove the players we didn't want as 'greats' so we could include the one's we wanted. And one other thing which I think won't work out is that we were wondering if we could have a 4 team league. And the other two teams would be choosing a roster from all of the MLB players from 1900 on that were born in Illinois (my State) and players from Indiana (my cousin's State). I think that would just be too complicated. So I am wondering if there is anyway to do the Franchise Greats 2 team league that would allow us to make a few player changes????? Any thoughts are appreciated...: )
