Player experience versus Pro Years

Can you tell me the difference between player experience and player pro years?
I thought it was the same thing, but I see players with "6" experience and "4" pro years and vice-versa.
Thank you for your help.

I don't see an "experience" entry. Do you have a screenshot to post?

You can choose "experience", when you click "view", "customize your view", right on the General tab.

I also noticed this under the "View" and added it once and was very confused by the results it was giving me. It was telling me a lot of my guys didn't have any experience or some guys who didn't did...even older veteran guys like Jason Marquis had a really low number listed under experience.

I'm not sure if it's working as intended, or what I was doing wrong...but I'd love it if somebody can figure out exactly what it was talking about!

I threw this out to the Commish in one of my online leagues and he put forth the best explanation I've seen so far. It looks like it simply represents the number of years from the time the player is created until he retires whether he plays of not.
