Can't win in the Auction House
Just complaining...
I can't buy cards to complete missions without paying a huge premium. 30pp for Iron, 100pp for Bronze, 1000pp+ for Silver! I finally pull a Diamond from a pack (95 Live Aaron Judge), but I can't sell it for a premium! It's 7-day avg is 6111, but now there are 3 auctions starting at 4000 with buy now at 5999. They are set for 2 days and just started. Seems I can only buy high and sell low, and that's a bad combination! |

I've given up, sorta.
At this point I'm not worrying about the missions at all. I had wanted to grab Eddie Plank and Chuck Klein for nostalgic reasons. I had both on a good team in a Strat-O-Matic old-timers league more than 20 years ago. I bought up a fair amount of the cheaper cards, but then I took a look at the higher bronze and silver prices, and figured they'd both end up going for 6,000-7,000 apiece, not to mention the time wasted cruising the AH. If market history repeats itself, when people are moving onto the next new thing, they'll probably each be available for <5,000. I guess I'll just wait. Hell, I haven't had either on a team for more than 20 years, what does another month or two matter?

We're paying the early adopter premium for individual cards right now. The game is new, demand for particular cards is high, and the supply of cards is a fraction of what it will be in a couple of months.
The other side of that coin is that inflated AH prices mean that packs are at their peak EV right now. If you like ripping packs or optimizing tourney teams, now's the time.

Equally, if you have live cards you can bear to part with, get more PP for them while you can. There's also some crazy good value in the historicals market too, especially at gold, imo.

Silver have the biggest mark up because there aren't packs that guarantee one in them. Diamond packs are available occasionally during Specials.

The other thing about packs, is if you buy 100 packs, that's 600 cards to properly price and list on the AH-- a full time job.

Ok, i am new to Perfect game and especially the market place. I have had OOTP15 for years and just upgraded. So I scored a Francisco Lindor 100! My next best player is an 82. Been playing almost a week now, lol I can part with him and can't find any for sale to base a price. Suggestions on keeping, vs selling, and for what price? Is is worth it to sell for 30,000 and buy packs? Buy someone else? Or just keep and build around a 100 shortstop.

That said, the game is about having fun so building around him is certainly a strategy. Ripping packs is usually the least efficient thing but it's also fun and who knows?
