Fight 20 - Zora Folley By Majority Decision Over James "Bonecrusher" Smith

Round 12 Commentary

The fighters touch gloves in the middle of the ring as the 12th and final round begins.
The swelling on the face of Smith is almost as pronounced as before his corner worked on it.
Folley lands two short rights and a left hook to the body.
Smith's right eye is turning ugly as the swelling under it worsens.
Smith scores with three hard shots in a row!
Smith scores with a tremendous right just above the waistline!
Folley is gasping for air!!
Folley seems to have done enough to win this fight.
Both fighters look finished as the fight ends with the ringing of the bell.

We go to the ring where Jake Gutierrez is ready with the call...

Fight 21 - George Foreman KO's Earnie Shavers In Round 11

Round 11 Commentary

Foreman lands a smashing hook!
Earnie Shavers is clutching his side!
George Foreman lands a vicious cross!
Earnie Shavers appears to have been staggered by that punch...
Shavers takes a hard uppercut right on the button and he’s down!
Steele begins the count...
Shavers's legs look bad as he manages to rise from the knockdown. The referee is finishing the mandatory 8 count.
Shavers does not look like he has fully recovered from the knockdown but he tells the ref that he can still fight.
Foreman stuns Earnie Shavers. Foreman has exceptional killer instinct and is going to work now to try and finish him!
Shavers takes a hard combination from Foreman
Shavers staggers into the ropes! He is struggling to remain upright!
Shavers is starting to puff up a little under his right eye.
Foreman wants to end this fight right now. Whether or not he can do it is another story.
Shavers absorbs a wicked cross to the head. He's staggering backwards and now he goes down in a heap.
Steele motions Foreman to a neutral corner and starts the count.
Shavers is struggling to regain his feet as the count reaches 3.
It's all over. Foreman raises his arms in victory as the referee counts 10.

Fight 22 - Ezzard Charles KO's Bob Foster in Round 10

Round 10 Commentary

Charles and Foster square off as the bell sounds to start the action for Round 10.
Foster's corner men do a nice job on Foster's cut on the left eyelid.
Foster misses with an uppercut from way outside. That's a dangerous punch to throw. You leave yourself wide open for a counter.
Charles lands a solid uppercut!
That punch really rocked Foster!
It looks like Charles has reopened Foster's previous wound because Foster is now bleeding once again.
Blood is visible once again on the face of Foster as the gash on his eyelid has reopened. Foster is blinking furiously, trying to clear his vision.
The fighters move away from each other, creating a bit of distance between them. Now the referee has called timeout, halting the action.
He's leading Foster to the ringside physician. The cut over Foster's eye seems to be the primary cause for concern.
The ringside physician wants to get a look at Foster's cut and Jen-Kin is stopping the fight. The doctor is examining the cut closely.
The doctor is shaking his head. The fight is over as Jen-Kin calls for the bell! Charles is the winner by TKO as the doctor will not let Foster continue!

We go to the ring where Pat Harker is ready with the call...

Ladies and Gentlemen! The Referee has stopped the bout with 0:25 gone in Round 10. Your winner is ... Ezzard Charles!

Fight 23 - Joe Frazier KO's Donovan Ruddock In Round 6

Round 6 Commentary

Frazier shoots a vicious cross right down the pipe and catches Ruddock flush!
Ruddock appears shaken by that punch!
Frazier lands a devastating cross!
"Razor" Ruddock is trying to reach for the ropes! His legs have turned to jelly!
The swelling under Ruddock's right eye is increasing. It's going to get tougher and tougher for to see punches coming.
Frazier lands a vicious uppercut!
Ruddock's knee almost touched the canvas...
Frazier catches Ruddock coming in with a sweet uppercut!
Joe Frazier sent Ruddock reeling with that punch!
Donovan Ruddock's vision could be hampered by the ever-increasing swelling under his right eye.
Frazier lands a big hook to the jaw of Ruddock. Ruddock was stopped cold by that shot.
Frazier landed a sharp combination that rocked Ruddock back on his heels!
Ruddock took far too many hard shots from Frazier in that flurry and he is hurt!
Ruddock's corner looks like they are ready to throw in the towel. Van de Wiele leaps between the two fighters!
It's over! Frazier wins on a TKO in Round 6.

Fight 24 - Jerry Quarry By Unanimous Decision Over Tyson Fury

Round 12 Commentary

Quarry scores with a tremendous right just above the waistline!
Those punches hurt Fury and he looks to hang on.
Fury's left eye continues to swell alarmingly, and its got to be affecting his vision.
Quarry is really focused in this round.
Fury's cross finds a home on Quarry's jaw.
Quarry connects with a solid hook!
That punch may have stunned Fury momentarily.
Quarry has Fury trapped!
Quarry lands a hard cross!
Fury was shaken by that blow!
Quarry lands a smashing cross!
Fury is reeling..
Quarry seems to have done enough to win this fight.
This fight is going to the scorecards as the bell sounds ending Round 12.

Fight 25 - Andrew Golota KO's Floyd Patterson In Round 3

Round 3 Commentary

Golota is off his stool and waiting for the bell to begin Round 3.
Golota lands a two-punch combination to the body
Patterson is not known for mixing it up inside, but he did land a solid uppercut to the body right there.
Patterson connects with a stiff left jab.
Patterson comes out on top in that exchange but Golota was able to land some nice shots as well.
Patterson lands a vicious cross!
Golota takes a step back, obviously hurt!
Golota lands a sweet cross Patterson stumbles back and down he goes. What a knockdown!
Referee Hook starts counting...
“Ten!” And he's out. Golota has starched Patterson here in round 3.

Round 12 Commentary

The crowd would like to see a knockout as the bell sounds for Round 12, the final round of the fight.
Holmes lands a powerful hook right on the button!
Holmes has Page in trouble, he is hurt and trying to hang on!!
Holmes bangs the uppercut home.
Holmes continues to pop the jab
Holmes rocks Page with a quick, powerful uppercut on the inside.
Holmes is complaining and Ref Cole agrees. A warning for using the shoulder is being given to Page.
Holmes lands a smashing hook!
Holmes is on his bicycle, moving from corner to corner forcing Page to chase him.
Holmes seems to have done enough to win this fight.
The fighters hug each other in the middle of the ring as the 12th and final round ends.

Fight 27 - Evander Holyfield KO's Ken Norton In Round 7

Round 7 Commentary

The bell starts the action in Round 7
Holyfield misses wildly with the Hook.
Norton connects with a double jab, followed by a right.
Both guys look just like they came out of their dressing rooms - not a mark on them.
Holyfield stays on the inside, and he lands a short, crisp uppercut that scored big.
Norton needs to catch his second wind...
Holyfield scores with a tremendous right just above the waistline!
Norton is favoring his ribs, he's hurt!!
Holyfield drives that short hook into Norton's midsection!
Norton is hurt!
Norton's head is snapped back following a sharp combination from Holyfield.
Evander Holyfield drives home a wicked hook to the midsection!
Holyfield lands a strong uppercut!
Look out! That was a straight right by Holyfield!
Norton was stopped cold by that punch, and he is staggering across the ring!

Fight 28 - Ingemar Johansson By Unanimous Decision Over Orlin Norris

Round 12 Commentary

Norris's corner didn't ignore the swelling he's suffered so far in this bout.
Norris is trying to free his gloves from under Johansson's gloves.
Bad Luck! Johansson's cut!
There's a good bit of blood coming from the gash under Johansson's right eye; it must be worse than it looks from here.
Johansson suffered that cut when the fighters accidentally banged heads during that clinch.
Johansson lands a powerful uppercut right on the button!
Norris takes a step back, obviously hurt!
Johansson's last punch snapped back the head of Norris. And it looks like it has also drawn blood!
Blood is coming from Norris's nose, but it probably looks worse than it really is.
Johansson just landed a three-punch combo!
Norris bangs the uppercut home.
Norris drills Johansson with a left and right and another left.
Johansson lands a stinging jab.
Johansson seems to have done enough to win this fight.
A flurry of punches are exchanged between the two fighters. Norris has gotten the better of the exchange.
Norris walks into a combination and folds like an accordion. He went down section by section.
Referee Earle picks up the count..
"Three!"
The final round has come to a close and Norris is saved by the bell!!

Fight 29 - Vitali Klitschko KO's Michael Moorer In Round 7

Round 7 Commentary

A minute wasn't enough to eliminate or even significantly reduce Moorer's swelling.
Klitschko lands a strong hook!
Moorer was stunned by that blow!
The swelling around Moorer's right eye is getting messy and his vision has to be obscured.
That flurry by Klitschko scored cleanly as Moorer looks to clinch.
Klitschko digs two shots to the body and then rips Moorer with a short uppercut on the inside.
Moorer's right eye continues to swell alarmingly and it's got to be affecting his vision.
Moorer just absorbed a terrifying shot to the body.
Those punches hurt Moorer and he looks to hang on.
Moorer is starting to suck wind...
That combination from Vitali Klitschko has some power behind it!
Moorer is suddenly in trouble after those punches!
There's a lead right hand that finds its mark. That can be a dangerous punch if Klitschko can land a solid one.
Moorer was stopped cold by that punch! Klitschko has a reputation as a great finisher. Let's see if he can live up to it!
Klitschko appears to have Moorer out on his feet. I'm not sure which of those last few punches hurt him so badly but Moorer looks ready to go.
Klitschko just landed a short, clean combination that caught Moorer flush. Moorer dropped like he'd been shot.
Green crouches over Moorer as he starts the count
The count reaches 9 as Moorer is struggling to climb off of the deck.
It's all over. Klitschko raises his arms in victory as the referee counts 10.

Fight - 30 Wladimir Klitschko By Unanimous Decision Over Archie Moore

Round 12 Commentary

The swelling on the face of Moore is noticeable, even at a distance.
Moore tried a jab but he left it hanging out there, and Klitschko lands a sizzling cross over the lazy jab.
Klitschko's jab rips into Moore.
Klitschko just absorbed a terrifying shot to the body.
Klitschko was shaken by those blows!
Ref Salzgeber is telling Moore to quit using the shoulder.
Moore landed a sharp combination that rocked Wladimir Klitschko back on his heels!
Klitschko was rattled by those shots!
Klitschko seems to have done enough to win this fight though.
That's it. This fight has gone the distance and now we'll await the official decision.

Round 4 Commentary

The bell starts the action as Karl Mildenberger and Lewis leave their corners.
Lewis lands a crushing uppercut!
Lewis sent Mildenberger reeling with that punch!
Both fighters show virtually nothing in the way of damage.
Lewis shoots a vicious cross right down the pipe and catches Mildenberger flush!
That shot landed square and Mildenberger felt it, he's in a world of hurt!
There's a hard shot off the top of Karl Mildenberger's head!
Mildenberger looks like he might have been hurt again!
Karl Mildenberger throws a flurry of punches; at least two solid shots made it through.
Lewis lands a solid cross!
Mildenberger seems to be in big trouble after that blow...

Fight 32 - Sonny Liston By Unanimous Decision Over Ray Mercer

Round 12 Commentary

As we enter the last round, it looks as if Mercer is not likely to win this fight unless he can score a knockout.
It also looks as if the scorecards will determine the outcome of this fight.
Mercer's corner gave his swelling priority during the minute off and they've done an excellent job.
Liston throws the hook and connects.
Liston caught Ray Mercer square with that uppercut.
Liston hooks off the jab and scores to the body or Mercer.
The swelling around Mercer's left eye is getting messy and his vision has to be obscured.
The final seconds of Round 12 expire, and this bout is going to go to the scorecards.

Round 1 Commentary

The fighters come out of their corners, ready to initiate action here in the first.
Louis connects with a hard-left hook to the jaw.
A solid combination downstairs by Louis.
Buster Mathis feels his back touch the ropes and immediately moves away. He doesn't want to be trapped there.
The action heats up as both men trade punches.
Mathis hits the deck after a huge uppercut, and he looks hurt.
Santore begins counting...
Mathis is making a gallant try to get off the canvas as the count reaches 3.
Mathis can't beat the count! It's over!
Mathis has been stopped in round 1.

Round 5 Commentary

Jen-Kin motions the fighters together as the bell sounds to begin Round 5.
That was a violent straight right by Rocky Marciano!
Lyle looks shaken!
Despite the punches landed, both fighters remain unmarked.
Marciano lands a hard, compact hook to the head of Lyle.
Marciano scores downstairs with a hard cross.
Marciano drives home a wicked hook to the midsection!
Lyle is reeling …
Rocky Marciano scores with a tremendous left!
Lyle suddenly has a vacant look in his eyes. That's a bad sign.
Marciano connects with a solid cross!
Lyle's hurt, that blow stopped him cold!
Lyle has no chance now. Jen-Kin is waving his arms! He's stopping the fight!
Marciano is the winner on a TKO!

Fight 35 - Muhammad Ali KO's Trevor Berbick In Round 9

Round 9 Commentary

Round 9 is about to begin... There's the bell!
A minute wasn't enough to eliminate or even significantly reduce Berbick's swelling.
Ali lands a jab to the midsection
Ali really buried that punch into Trevor Berbick's ribs.
Berbick's left eye continues to swell and soon his vision will be completely obscured from that side.
Ali lands a vicious combination and down goes Berbick!
Ref Basile begins the count over Berbick as Ali moves to a neutral corner..
Berbick is desperately trying to stand as the count hits 7 but he is badly hurt.
Thats it! The fight is over and Berbick has still not moved as the medical staff rushes in to check on him.
Ali takes the victory here in 9 with a thunderous knockout.

We go to the ring where Johnny Addie is ready with the call...

Ladies and Gentlemen! The end comes at 1:19 of round 9. The winner by knockout … Muhammad Ali!

Round 9 Commentary

Referee Caiz Sr. motions the fighters together as the bell sounds to begin Round 9.
Biggs's corner has done a great job on the cut under the right eye. They've got the bleeding stopped for now.
Tim Witherspoon lands a jab to the midsection
Biggs takes a tremendous hook to the jaw!
Biggs was staggered by those punches!
Biggs scores with a hook to the side of the head.
Biggs drops his shoulder as if to throw a right, then quickly rips a quick left hook to the body.
Witherspoon is on unsteady legs after those punches.
Both fighters are throwing but it looks like Witherspoon is scoring more than Biggs.
Biggs's vision could be hampered by the ever-increasing swelling under his left eye.
Biggs takes a hard combination right on the button and he’s down!
Caiz Sr. motions Witherspoon to a neutral corner and starts the count.
At 8, Biggs rises to his feet as Caiz Sr. starts the mandatory 8 count.
Caiz Sr. checks Tyrell Biggs closely and will allow the fight to continue.
Witherspoon is going to let it all hang out and try to end this fight right here and now!
Witherspoon lands a solid hook!
The swelling under Biggs's left eye can't get much worse, as it has now ballooned substantially.
Witherspoon lands a hard cross!
Witherspoon connects with a thundering uppercut and Biggs drops to the canvas!
Caiz Sr. positions himself over Biggs and starts the count ...
Biggs is in bad shape as he tries to regain his feet at the Count of 5.
It's all over. Witherspoon raises his arms in victory as the referee counts 10.
Biggs stares blankly into the crowd, still wondering what just happened.

Fight 37 - Jimmy Bivins By Uanimous Decision Over Carl "The Truth" Williams

Round 12 Commentary

We go to the last round, as the bell sounds to start the 12th.
Bivins lands a hard hook!
Williams is trying to regroup after that punch...
Bivins connects with an uppercut. He can make good use of that punch if he can continue to get inside.
Bivins is really focused in this round.
Bivins has Carl Williams pinned!
Bivins bangs away with both hands and a nice uppercut finds a home.
This has not been one for the ages, as both fighters have been very tentative the entire fight.
Williams suddenly goes southpaw and tries to find an opening.
There's a hard shot off the top of Bivins's head!
That absolutely rocked Bivins, he is on queer street right now!!
That's it. This fight has gone the distance and now we'll await the official decision.

We await the bell, signaling the start of Round 3. There it is!
OH! Bobick landed the big hook flush!
Williams is favoring his ribs, he's hurt!!
Bobick lands a vicious cross!
Williams seems to be in big trouble after that blow...
That jab from Bobick has some power behind it!
That shot landed square and Williams felt it, he's in a world of hurt!
Bobick knows that Cleveland Williams is hurt. His Killer Instinct has kicked in!
Williams takes a tremendous hook to the jaw!
Williams's knee almost touched the canvas...
This should be stopped now, before Williams get's hurt!
Ref Ramos jumps in and is waving it off!! It's over!
