Chicago White Sox traded 3b Hank Allen to the Chicago Fire for Rp Neal Cotts. White Sox traded RP Tony Castillo to the Sydney Blue Sox for RP Ken Ash. White Sox traded RP Aaron Bummer to the Baltimore Black Sox for RP Scott Carroll.

After the draft, i realized i had way too many LH relievers. Made afew trades to remedy that. We are a young team, We probably wont be very competitive this season but think we are in good position going forward. Baines, Bonilla, Cash, Battey, Agee, along with our top 3 SP Buehrle, Bere & Burns are good. We dont have a true CL.

Colorado will miss RP Ralph Citarella for 4-5 months.
White Sox lose RP Ken Ash for the season.
Chicago White Sox traded 3b Matt Davidson to the Colorado Sky Sox for SP James Baldwin.
Gold Sox lose RP Bryan Clark for the season.

White Sox will miss RP Neal Cotts for 3-4 months.
Cubs lose RP Juan Agosto for the season.

White Sox have 5 of the top 10 prospects.
Baltimore looks to run away in the AL with Boston as the WC battling with Cleveland.
Everett looks to also run away in the NL with Sydney a distant 2nd as the WC.


World Series - Everett over Baltimore in 6.

We have 5 of the top 10 prspects. We will not be good this season but I like my team a lot. We do lack bullpen arms and losing Ash & Cotts is going to hurt us. i may pitch the SP in relief but i will wait a bit on that.
Here s a breakdown on my team:
1b - Norm Cash - good power hitting 1b. In another season or 2 he will be one our top 2-3 hitters.
2b Joey Cora - While he may not be an everyday starter, he is a scrappy player with good speed.. At worst he will be a platoon player
3b Joe Crede - Joe is a good defensive 3b with good power
SS Luke Appling - Old Aches & Pains will be a solid SS for us. He doesnt strike out much, so I can hit him 1-9 on this team. Very versatile.
LF Don Buford - Good LF with speed. i am a bit worried about how well he can hit but at worst he would be a good backup LF,2b,3b.
CF Tommy Agee - good speed and D. He will make a great leadoff once he settles in.
RF Bobby Bonilla - Bobby Bo can play 4 positions in 1b,3b,LF,RF. He will play at all 4 throughout the season.
DH Harold Baines - This team will be built around him. Mostly a Rf but will DH as well.
C Earl Battey - Perhaps the leagues best defensive C who has good pop ans might be able to hit for decent AVG.


Bench
C dave Cochrane - Dave can play 6 positions and will play all of then this seasonh.
IF Sandy Alomar Sr - Senior is mostly a 2b and will platoon with cora
IF/OF Dave Brain - Brain is a 3b,SS, LF with good speed.
OF Jeff Abbott - Abbott is a solid 4th OF.
OF Joe Borchard - Joe has a ton of power but can not hit for average at all.

If/OF Alan Bannister - Alan can play 5 positions and will platoon in Cf to start the season.

All 4 are rookies and all 4 can be at least 15 game winners in the future

CL Paul Assenmacher - Paul is not a true CL.He is 1 of 2 FA i would like to resign. I would prefer him to be a 7th inning LH Specialist..
SU - Scott Carroll - Scott is in the position for the time being. I am not sold on him being a quality SU.
MR - Larry Anderson - Our Pen is weak
MR - Tyler Danish - See Larry
LSP - Dennis Cook - Until Cotts comes back Cook is our LH Specialist and MR
LO Chief Bender - Bender is in the twilight of his career. He will probably pitch over 120 innings in relief because of how bad our starters will get rocked.

We will have a ton of $4 to spend on FA's this offseason, namely SP Eddie Ciccotte.

The Browns have a solid rotation but just an average offense. Their park is huge so there wont be many Hr for us in this series.

Blue Sox SS Tim Anderson has a 5 Hit game vs Colorado.

3 games @ Baltimore. We won our season opener in 13 innings, then got shelled each of the next 2 games.
Baltimore has a scrappy team and is considered the team to beat this season. They have a solid pen.

Our home opener. It will be nice to get into our home park, where our offense might be able to open up a bit. Of course, that also means the same can happen with Boston. Dick Allen is a beast.

Cleveland has a bit more veteran team than I have. They have Bobby Bonds, Orlando Cabrera, George Bell, a young Mike Cameron on offense. Tim Belcher is their ace.
